Hi
Am QF Plat flying J next week out of Sydney, and wondering if I can book treatments in advance, and if so, how, or is it first come/first served on checking in at lounge on the day? Partner will also be travelling with me and in lounge as my guest.
Thanks for any assistance.

Only paid and award F pax can pre-book (i.e. points upgrades can not pre book). It is first come first served - so I would go straight to the spa when you get and get an appointment (well I personally wouldn't but then I do not spa ;))

get there as early as you can, ask as soon as you get there, keep your fingers crossed that the F passengers are not interested - enjoy

I've got a 4 hour connection in SYD F Lounge on Sunday, flying J and I'm WP. Hoping that will give me enough time to get into the spa (who can knock back a free massage?) as well as knocking off 3 (or more) courses and a healthy helping of Tattinger :)

Can confirm that mrs.dr.ron as WP could not prebook with points upgrade to F and missed out on spa even though first to check in on QF1.

OK not Sydney, so a definite YMMV, but last two times at MEL F lounge myself and travelling companion have been approached by the spa staff within a few minutes of arrival and offered a treatment (I'm not a spa person either, but TC took up the offer each time, and enjoyed it).

I was approached once in SYD and declined due to the shock of it all, did I look as though the 3 hours I spent before getting to the airport was in vain
As I have posted previously my experience with Lounge spas has varied, a bit like airline food, I haven't yet been to one which is a patch on the best outwith the airport .

At my last visit to Syd F lounge 2 weeks ago, I was offered a choice of manicure, pedicure or facial:shock::shock:. A back massage was not available. After an uncomfortable minute or two of hesitation, I mumbled maybe I'll try the facial:oops::oops:...it actually was quite good as the facial included a shoulder massage which helped soothe some aching muscles:p...I was a bit embarassed tho when I was asked "First time...??"

On the Easter weekend we did the JQ30/35 MEL-SYD return.

Melbourne was so quiet we could pick the time we wanted for the spa, and both got treatments. They approached us as soon as we entered the lounge to make a booking. In the end the flight was delayed 2 hours anyway so we managed to fit in breakfast AND lunch!

In Sydney it was busy and we were told we had to go to the spa to book. Only two appointments were left so we took them (only 1 massage and 1 facial/pedicure/manicure available).

By the way, the facial is awesome. Would be the best option before getting on a long haul flight it think.

+1 for MEL FLounge and spa treatment. The Concierge was quite insistent that I used the spa! I was the only occupant of the FLounge for most of my lolling time. It must have been a very quiet day.

Oh, I must of been lucky then. In Jan on my 1st and only time flying F, my points upgrade came through for my SYD-SIN. In the morning I called the Lounge to make a spa booking. I was asked if I was flying F, I said yes , I was put through and got an appointment.

I had no idea points upgrade F are ineligible, and concierge did not check my booking status.

I don't believe points upgrades to F are ineligible for spa bookings - just that the upgrades usually come through overnight prior to the flight whilst the booking calls are made the afternoon of the day prior.
