Hi all,

Was looking for some suggestions here. Work is paying for a combo fare to Prague for a meeting from Sydney in March, and the tickets tend to come in at $7,000. Unfortunately the combo fare involves SQ or QF from Sydney to Singapore, and then you pick up one of the Lufthansa airlines from Singapore to Europe which really aren't all that enjoyable.

I was wanting to throw in a Jakarta stop over on the way there, and was thinking of a DONE4 which in my mind was around the same price. Time is not really an issue. I just called our corporate travel agent and she advised me that round the worlds in J are now up to $10,500.

Can you guys confirm if this is the case these days and suggest any discounted ways of sticking to oneworld airlines within the $7,000 price range? Think it might be too difficult :(

Many thanks,

SSme.

I have found a $9000 fare on BA using http://matrix.itasoftware.com/cvg/dispatch/ .

The routing is SYD-[xSIN/BKK-]LHR-xPRGand vv.

It books into I class SYD<>[SIN/BKK<>]LHR<>PRG and J class LHR/PRG, the fare basis code is IBED.

It allows for ONE STOPOVER which can be at SIN, BKK or LON. Stopover at SIN for a separate CGK flight.

Interesting website. Thanks so much Serfty.

I am looking at departing Sydney on March 16 to Jakarta, then Jakarta to Prague by Sunday March 20, then return on Thursday night March 25.

Trying to punch it into the Matrix website but it might take me a while to learn :(

Finnair fare all the way business to Prague including taxes for March is 6940.64 per person. Have done it a couple of times on AY to Europe and I really like the quick route from BKK to HEL. Ther SYD BKK is on BA both ways.

Good fare in my books

I found that as well on ITA.

Unfortunately I can't find anything with a CGK stopover along the way which doesn't break the $10k mark.

Best I've seen is a fare which is sold by AY, giving a stopover in BKK. You would need to find your own way to/from CGK from BKK before continuing to PRG. The SYD/BKK sectors are flown on BA.

It's about $7.7k all-up for J all the way. Or, $7.1k if you are willing to fly the AY PRG-HEL sector on the way back in Y (but the rest is still in J).

You may have to shave a couple of days here and there, though. Prices start hovering on $7.7k and then exploding the more inflexible you become.
