Thanks for the help ... I purchased the first section of the trip today on Qantas's new Dallas service.. We are very excited! Should be good to try somewhere other than LAX too (which I, and most people, hate with a passion). In the next few weeks I'll purchase the Oneworld America Pass flights, then the Iceland flights. Its all falling together well so far, so hopefully our luck continues!

I also have started a blog page, which will follow the trip if anyone is interested in checking it out: Where to from Here? | Travel Blogging

Next Step - Get to Silver Status before the end of Feb (only 30 status credits to go) so I can earn the extra points and select my seats early!

Cheers Again.

How much are the flights using the OW America Pass vs getting the cheapest whY fare on AA using the multi sector booking engine on www.AA.com?

They are a fair bit cheaper.. Cheapest I could find DFW-YYC was $700 each way, whereas the sectors are $240 each.. So works out a a fair bit cheaper. Of course if a sale appears before I buy the sectors thats cheaper then I'll use that. The sector from YYC-JFK was about even via ORD, and JFK-DFW was cheaper to get the pass.
