Airline holds flight for grieving grandfather

Its always good to hear that airlines at times see beyond the balance sheet, especially LCCs, its also nice to read a good airline article on no news:

IN an extraordinary act of kindness a Southwest airline pilot delayed his plane to ensure a grieving passenger could say goodbye to his dying grandson.

Nancy and Mark, identified only by their first names, heard the news that their three-year-old grandson was fatally attacked - allegedly by their daughter’s live-in-boyfriend - over the weekend.

The grief-stricken couple quickly began making arrangements for Mark, who was on a business trip in Los Angeles, to get to his family in Denver, where the toddler was set to be taken off life support the next evening.
 
Very, very nice. And that quote from the pilot and walking together down the aerobridge - truly touching.
 
An extremely kind gesture by the pilot. Nice to see these types of gestures still happen occasionally....
