Jetstar sale fares not available for changes?

Hi,
I've booked flights I would like to change the dates of. When I try and change the flights through jetstar.com, it doesn't allow me to access the sale fares available through the normal bookings.

Are these fares not available when changing flights? Will it make a difference if I go through the call centre...if I can get through?

I'd say it is only showing you same fare class - if you ca nswap it will be of the same value.

Jetstar 'sale' type tickets (just like many sale type tickets from other airlines) will most often have multiple restrictions. Some of the usual conditions will be non-cancellable, no name changes, no date change etc.

Depending how far out you are flying, the best hope (well from my experience anyway) is to hope for a schedule / time change. That way, Jetstar does offer you to date change with +/- a few days for free.

My last two bookings with JQ involved time changes and I was allowed to select different flights within +/- a week. The schedule change was only 5 minutes but given my free selection, I chose a flight 4 days earlier. It was a bonus for me as I was prepared to forfeit that ticket.
