Skywest Airlines is poised to offer Midwest residents a weekly service from Geraldton to Melbourne, after negotiations with officials.

The regional airline is also likely to double capacity on routes to the Midwest, announcing that it plans to introduce 100-seat jet services from January.

Not sure how they are going to do it - may just be a connecting flight to the existing Kalgoorlie-Melbourne service, or alternatively it is to offer a second service from Kalgorrlie to Melbourne.

The A320 would have added some capacity and distance capabilities freeing up the FK100s especially from Cloudbreak.

I'm surprised they're even able to keep the current Kalgoorlie-Melbourne service going. It got canned and brought back once before I think. I just wouldn't have thought the demand for it would be there.

Probably full of FIFO I would imagine, that sort of trip is well suited to the F100.
