This will make alot of AFF members happy. Been quite a few complaints about lack of QF metal on Mel-drw

I am sure the QF club and gate agents will appreciate another aircraft at the gate around the middle of the day ;). I wonder if the ADL service will drop capacity to a 737 now for those days, there seems to be a lot of MEL bound traffic on that flight for obvious reasons.

Pity they did not schedule a service later in the day, as I have posted elsewhere the late afternoon DJ MEL flight is well timed for business.

Don't know whether they would be considering any Taswegian traffic & if the arrival in MEL would connect with any flights to the Apple Isle or other regional ports like ABX maybe.

With the non-stop DRW/CBR/DRW fights operating on Mon/Wed/Fri there's no clash with MEL nonstops at this stage unless the CBR frequency increases.

In any case if you get to the QP at opening time (1000hrs Oct-Mar) you should be able to get a seat otherwise it'll be like a Collingwood Carlton final!

But if you rush for a seat as the QP opens you miss the first helping of food-and we were amongst the first 10 in.

Importantly, you do then have a long wait for the drinks.....

Sigh :(

All of the capital cities are now branded as CityFlyer routes with capacity to suit, hopefully the one lonely non-cityflyer capital is next in line

Josh:p

Scrap that: DRW was already a CityFlyer capital, but now it ticks all the destinations on that chart that QF have

JQ announced flights to Manilla, I wonder if that is a precursor to pulling the QF flight, it does free up an A330.......

Yea I don't think so actually.

There is a stack of corporate (miners etc) and government travel on that route and they only recently increased capacity...

I know a certain miners board kept complaining to QF about no skybeds on that route :) not sure how much sway it had though... Clearly the route is doing ok though.

We will see, I suspect QF may be wanting to shore up PER business with all widebodies when DJ come online with theirs, in that case I expect MNL will go JQ (note the timing of the intro) . At the moment they are trading on thin ground with the A330 fleet, the unexpected availability of VH-QPI saw ERs heading to Perth for a week!

Yes but how far off are DJ from offering even a majority widebodies on transcontinental do we think...?

QF have a new next gen domestic A330 scheduled to arrive in the next few weeks - then the last 'rogue' A330 with no AVOD will be shipped off to Jetstar.

Then QF have another A330 coming in Feb I believe so that should help.
