I got this in my inbox this morning. It's Very Bond, James Bond-ish.

I quite like it. Then again, SRB is no stranger to slick marketing.

Does anyone here actually fly VS at all to rate them? Are they all hype or do they actually live up to it?

I only have one experience. Not enough by any means for a good rating.

Based on my one experience in Upper Class - overrated to a degree. They don't exactly blow BA Club World out of the water, if that is their intention.

WARNING! POSSIBLY SEXIST TONES AHEAD...

Now as for their staff looking hot - well, that definitely requires more than one flight to judge. For my flight, I can say that the FAs who were looking after J class definitely do make a rate on the bird watching scale. But I wouldn't say they were absolutely drop-dead gorgeous, viz. the VS anniversary ad where a whole bunch of them walked slowly through a London terminal and everyone gawked whilst making a mess of themselves.

My 2 UC flight experiences with them in no way live up the massive hype of the ad. I enjoyed the ad, sadly though it bares very little resemblance to the reality. Same could be said of most advertising though

My past J experience in June with VS (HKG-SYD) was that their food is nowhere near as good as others. Service is pretty good and bed is great. Their AVOD IFE is getting old though.

The FA looks OK but no better than CX FAs

As a pom myself I like VS and it's my choice of carrier in J SYD to LHR. VS is an airline that doesn't take itself too seriously. It has some great concepts - the cowshed at the Club House with haircuts, shaves and manicures. Jacuzzi and dinner in the restaurant perhaps with a game of pool before retiring on the plane ? No worries. How about a nice private security channel to avoid the nasty mobs in heathrow.

When it consistently comes in at under 2k less than a SQ ticket, it's hard product is good and reasonably priced.

I like the advert. It is indeed very Bond which was the intent given it is featured in the latest Bond movies instead of what always used to be BA. But more to the point, its a bit of fun. That seems to capture the very essence of the airline.

Their product doesn't add up though. Their AVOD really needs an update, desperately.... As does their J seat. It was good when launched, showing it's age now though.
