Hi All, I'm looking for advice on booking a rewards flight for my daughter from Brisbane to London around the end of Sept or start of Oct. Her fiance has an open ticket with Malaysia Airlines, so there is pressure to fly with him...

I could transfer some Amex points to Malaysia's Enrich program, but I don't know how many points I would need - or if there are any rewards seats available around that time.

Any suggestions welcome - thanks

The MH staff in their call centre are generally pretty helpful (I'm assuming the ADL head office still handles some local redemptions), probably best advised to give them a call and confirm what is or isn't available before determining whether a transfer to Enrich is going to be necessary.

And the office staff in the Brisbane office itself are even more helpful than the call centre. If you can possibly visit them in Edward St, you will likely get service outside the actual terms of the Enrich program, whereas the call center, whilst helpful, will stick to the rules.

For example, waitlisting award seats is not really allowed, but when I wanted two seats for particular dates, they not only waitlisted/requested them, but let me know when they became available - so that I could transfer the required Amex points after knowing the seats would be there. IMHO you can't get better service than that (and no risk of orphaned points).

Thanks. A visit to the Brisbane office sounds like a start. Could you tell me where it is in Edward St? The phone directory just shows admin at level 17, 80 Albert St.

Sorry about the Edward St mislead, was going from memory - Albert St is exactly where it is - Level 17 at 80 Albert St (down the river end). Front desk has 1 or 2 lovely ladies at it, and very helpful.
