Another data point SG just under 200k points got the email.

Bit hard to tell for a while as iphone os4 has half stuffed up the connection with email server. It can download sometimes and can't send ????

And don't get me started about the "english" spell checker

In the last month I have spent 260K QFF points and ~$900 on JASA's for two people - this is the same number of points equivalent 'classic' J awards would have cost; the
ppplus.bmp
being ~$400.

So, between us, for ~$500 we earn 840SC and 23K QFF points (37K with status bonus).

Note that JASA at these point costs tend to correlate with U award availability.

This PS received the email late this morning (does this mean I'm extra plebian?) but thanks to the Forum I'd already confirmed last night that the flight I was after was not among them :(

My 95 year old aunt who is NB with 8K points just got email!

What are you doing reading your aunts email , I just got mine, not worth reading !

The emails today are the General mail out.I have got mine but there is a difference to mrsdrron's.Her's starts-
Exciting news! Our Classic Award Seat Release starts today! And we're telling a select few of our Frequent Flyers early.
Mine-
Exciting news! Now's the time to use your points for a getaway – with the Qantas Classic Award seat release!
So she's amongst the select few,me the pleb.
Actually I think they have been taking lessons from Hhonors in selective treatment of their elites.I am the JohnK of hhonors.

I'm a pleb too - got it this afternoon.

I do only have 50k points though .... and 320k points already spent on a European jaunt at the end of the year for the missus and I :)

Don't worry, the advanced one was also titled 'are you sitting down?'. Made me think it was spamming medication for a dysfunction, nearly deleted it. It appears partly random like the double SC's promo and partly JQ crazy warehouse sales email punctuality syndrome.

Got mine at 2pm yesterday....but would have preferred the double SC offer!

Me too!

Got mine yesterday, SG with 50k points having spent 130k points already last month.

I received one today:

Subject: Are you sitting down?
Yeah, I got a bit excited when I saw the subject line. Wasn't really that excited when I saw the content to be honest - I was fine standing up.

QC bronze, I got a copy early this afternoon.
Nothing special, pity they didn't just decrease the points required or something...

Can if you like.

Sounds like it was targeting those members with lots of points, I have under 100,000, and do use them for different flights.
Oops. It looks like I have already deleted it.

Can anyone else send a copy to BB :?:

Note that I can book an "Any Seat" award in "Discount Economy" during the period of this 'release' between MEL and LHR return for between:

  • 173K QFF and $0 and
  • 128K QFF and $580

Both of these are via SYD and would earn from 23K QFF and 140 SC's. (A WP would earn 44K+ QFF)

Compare this with 128K QFF and $450 and 0 QFF/SC earn.
