Ive done a bit searching and havent found any info on this

how long does it normally take for the SC's from AA flights to be credited into your QF account, when you have your QF number attached to all your AA flights?

Im doing a mileage run in September and will hit WP before i fly LAX-MEL home, and wanted to be WP to check out the first lounge as well as try and grab a decent seat 80A on the A380 home.(seat is locked at the moment)

cheers

The points/SC's normally post in 48 to 96 hours.

Keep an eye on them as they do not always post correctly.

JD what lounge are you looking at?

Does that flight leave from TB rather than the sydney flight which goes from from T4?

Serfty has advice that the best lounge is in T4 Admirals Flagship rather than the OW lounge in TBIT.

I hope I got all that right, and will be corrected accordingly!!!

That's mainly due to the TBIT Flounge getting very crowded in the evenings. It's a lot better in the hour between QF12 and QF94 boarding. Also the WiFi speed in T4 is much better (TBITs by comparison is 'glacial').

My AA SC's have always posted within 48 hours and fortunately have posted correctly.

If you do hit WP prior to the ride home I'd also spend as much time in the T4 FL as you could, whatever time of day.

I did a mini run a month ago and it was 2-3 days. All posted correctly thankfully :)

I haven't been in the OW lounge in TBIT, but here's another question - and I suspect it'll help the OP as well.

I hit WP on either QF11 on the 18th of this month (SYD-LAX), or my next connecting flight (LAX-AUS) - which one will depend on if I fly anymore between then.

On the 23rd I have a flight out of LAX T4 to SFO. Assuming my SCs have posted by then, I'll be OWE/WP for the first time but won't have a card yet.

Does anyone know how strict they'll be? ie: is it likely to be "you've only got a OWS/SG card, so Admirals Club only for you" or will they see my status on the system?

I also fly back to LAX on the 25th, so will arrive in T4 and then on QF12 out of TBIT to SYD. Based on the comments in this thread, it seems like it'd be a better option to stay airside and use the Flagship lounge in T4 and catch the bus over to TBIT later as I'll be checked all the way through (I arrive in T4 at 6:05pm, and take off from TBIT at 10:30pm). Yes? :)

The AC in T4 is pretty good anyway (I ran into a few people there on QF12 when I was on QF16 - they stayed airside and then caught the bus over a bit closer) so it won't be a big deal. It'd be nice to check out the F lounges that's all :)

Within 24 hours for all of my flights in June.

They are generally pretty good with admittance in the USA, as long as your SC's have posted and your new WP status shows up on line and on your BP.

As for attending T4 before you travel; I'd do that and then take the 9pm bus - that will give you ½ an hour in the TBIT F/L before boarding commences ~9:45pm.

See here:
Be aware the lift to the TBIT lounge is too the left after you get off the bus. If QF12 is using Gate 101, you may see signs pointing to the right.

That sounds good for me as i'll just qualify for SG so can access J lounges.

I've just checked my account, and my SCs from an AA flight that landed 10 hours ago have posted.

Considering my SCs from a QF flight (CBR-SYD) taken ~36 hours ago haven't posted yet that's impressive :)

Status update has kicked in already too:

First time SG in my membership year and now first time WP after being QP PS for so many years (and with the exception of that one AA flight, all on QF metal and mostly domestic) - I am a happy man :)

Even though I hit Emerald/WP on the 18th (with status showing on my account by the 19th), the AA system is still showing me as Sapphire on the boarding passes, etc.

I asked the attendant at the AC in AUS to check my status on the system and it's also showing as Sapphire, so this may be an issue with I get to LAX in a few hours.

I'm going to be unhappy if it hasn't updated by Sunday and they refuse access based on that :( (I'm only in T4 LAX for 35 minutes today so it doesn't matter). When leaving SFO on Sunday I might see if I can check in using the QF counters for SFO-LAX-SYD-CBR instead of the AA counters as I may have more luck getting a BP that shows my real status :)

To get it updated on AA; phone AA and get the membership number removed from the booking and then , once removed, go in and add it back in; that should then reflect the new status. Current bookings will not reflect the new status unless you do this

Great, thanks for the advice - I'll do that this afternoon because there was no Flagship lounge access for me in LAX (I didn't push it though).

Anyway, time to head out of my hotel now that I'm checked in and enjoy San Francisco - it's absolutely gorgeous weather here right now (I didn't even bother with the A/C, I just opened the door to the balcony in my hotel room) :)

No issues this time around.

Handed over BP, it was scanned and instead of being handed the drink chits she very pleasantly said "Welcome Mr Ewing, here's the key for the first class lounge".

I spent some time there and then headed over to the Oneworld First lounge in TBIT - the Flagship lounge is far superior.
