Free Drink on QF Domestic

Quick question: 3 times in the last 12 months I have received a free glass of Shiraz, is this an unpublished perk of being WP or just plain luck? 1st time SYD-MEL I only had $50 note, taken from me and later returned as "change". 2nd time also SYD -MEL charged but then money refunded later in flight, FA said she was told to return it but didn't know why. 3rd time SYD-BNE no attempt to take money.
All flights whY and all before 1200/1400 free drink cut off.

The cynic in me says you were just lucky BUT three times seems a little more than a mere coincidence though I do not have a better answer.

Yes I thought that as well but I found it a little hard to believe that lightning strikes 3 times. Maybe I should continue the $50 note trick (BTW I only had the $50 on the first occasion). All my other flights this year in J or after booze curfew cut off and wondered if this had happened to anyone else flying whY ?

Once in whY I had an FA pass me an air-sickness bag that contained 4 mini-bottles of Baileys.

Over the years I've had many drinks comped and for many reasons - some obvious and some not so.

On the other hand I have paid for many as well.

Having posted all that, maybe QF now have introduced a discreet program for it's to[p level travellers, perhaps similar to what AA are doing for their EXP's. (Free Wine drink and/or minor snack for EXP in Mainline Y - FlyerTalk Forums)

It would be interesting if this keeps occurring.
