Going to be passing through F lounge in a few weeks time this time with Mrs and sprog in tow. Sprog is now 14 and booked as an adult fare yet we can't simply leave her sitting in the airport by herself whilst we go into the F lounge as I'm only allowed 1 guest into F lounge.

I guess it depends on who is on the door at the time, but I'm thinking my chances of getting 2 guests into the lounge will entirely depend on how full the lounge is at the time. Low number of guests = good chance.

Or maybe it will require some skillful talking to boot as well?

Rather than have the worry about will they or won't they I would ring them ahead of time and check this out. At worst you could always use the J lounge. ;)

The guy on the door might offer some resistance but should let you go upstairs and try your luck, as for up there, if you’re a family and your daughter doesn’t look too old (some 14 year olds can), then there’s a good chance they’ll let you all in.

I got in with my dad and sister a couple years ago and I’m over 20, while my sister would have been 16.

Be prepared to have to use the J lounge if you all can’t get in though.

Try not to act as if you should be entitled to it, they should be nice about it if you’re polite with them.

Yes, try not to act as it's an entitlement to get an extra guest into the F lounge. It seems to be a particular attribute amongst Sydney parents nowadays, who treat all Qantas lounges as creches.

That is so true! Some parents seem to make absolutely no effort to keep control of their kids while in the lounges. In my opinion that is most disrespectful to other guests especially if the lounge is already crowded.

Is it just me or are some threads being dragged into religious discussion on common questions, maybe we need a "chewing the fat" section in the playground where the following can be discussed without the expectation of a clear answer

1. Kids in J/F and Lounges
2. Reclining your seat
3. Lowering your blind on day flights
4. Apple versus the rest of the world
5. Are Status Runs worth it?

To the OP, I would ring the lounge and ask them what they think, preparation and politeness go a long way IMHO
