Qantas unveils the biggest changes to status in program history

I seem to be on track to renew PC by 8 Dec, and also be likely have earned 140 SC's under this new regime.

Does this mean than I can double dip with the extra SC's, and also have PC until Aug 2028?

$100 contribution to charity (the environment) and get some status credits for it
Is there something about carbon offsets I'm missing for previous posts to be solidly against it?

Purely looking at $/SC, there’s probably better options.

Regarding “donation”, you don’t get a Tax Deduction. So that’s a bummer.

There will be some who’ll go for it but I’d rather just fly to MEL for SCs.

I would like to ask about the loyalty bonuses (bonus 50 SCs for every 500 QF and JQ SCs (max 2k)). Will they be ending on 08/12?

I was in the phone with QF earlier and was informed that this will be next year but I thought that this was on 08/12.

Come 08/12, I'll be a flight away from a loyalty bonus, so knowing exactly when it will clear operation will be very helpful.

I believe that the Platinum and P1 bonuses are remaining as they are; is that correct?

Separate topic:
Does anyone have any insight as to which CC will be the one for SC-earning on rewards flights?

That announcement is yet to come

I noted a statement had been made which is on this post

They are going away with the new program, but the Q&A section refers to that change coming in 2027. Looks like you are ok on the other front with Platinum & P1 bonii as well:

As a LTG with no hope of living long enough to reach LTP, I'm not sure I care which CC is to be the special one(s).
Regular WP is still worthwhile!

Being able to burn and earn was the biggy for me and PC/PC+. At least, I’m on track to retain PC until end of July 2028 before I need another CC.

And the “mysterious and magical” CC with all the perks is xx_xx.
If only we knew! Waiting, waiting ……

I'm a bit frustrated that they are explicitly excluding (or at least seemingly) points transferred from hotel partners. The transfer rates are absolutely atrocious so one has to assume Qantas makes a neat buck off them, perhaps more than they would than they would make from the Expedia commission they get on Qantas hotels bookings and with none of the pesky things like having to deal with customers and provide tax invoices.

Agree: any CRs I have managed to book have been on partners so ineligible for SCs anyway.
Probably a lot harder for you to get stuff ex PER but we average 100 to 200 SCs on longhaul QF J CRs each year. Which is really useful as self-funded flyers these days and quite accustomed to OWE status.

As above, securing PC again until mid 2028 kicks the CC option down the road!

Long haul CR redemptions in J on QF metal from PER are not merely harder, they are impossible!
