Yes, we don’t do Gyro’s in SA

It’s a Yiros or occasional you will see them labelled a kebab but never a Gyros.
lol

It's the same thing:

"Gyros is the standard international and formal English transliteration from the Greek alphabet. Yeeros (or sometimes yiros) is an informal spelling intended to help English speakers pronounce it the way it actually sounds in Greek."

Yiros/Gyros is not a kebab.

A yiros (or gyro) is a specific type of Greek wrap made with meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie, while
kebab is a broader term that can mean skewered grilled meat or various types of rotating spit-roasted meats depending on the region.

Although in Brisbane in the 1990s all the shops making Yiros were actually called Kebab shops. ISTR the one in PAddington on CAxton street is still called a kebab shop.

I know it’s the same thing but many South Aussies wouldn’t have a clue what a Gyros is and I’d doubt there is a place in Adelaide that sells them as Gyros.
They are called a Yiros here and some of the Turkish and Middle Eastern shops will call them Kebabs
