Disney World is near Orlando so no it is not adjacent to the coast. Our little granddaughter thinks of Disney as Mickey’s House. I used to go to Orlando as we had a supplier there.
Interest rates in the US are rising.

Looks like all condos in Florida are affected since the building collapse not just those within a certain distance of the ocean
- they must have adequate repair reserves and cannot kick the can down the road like they used to

I note QF is taking their A380 from the transpacific routes and putting them onto the SYD-SIN routes.
Perhaps travel into US has declined.
I remember when we visited Mickeys House years ago, there were a lot of Condos in the Kissimmee area for Shortstay rental

US Bond selling apace pushing yield beyond 5%.

Today NUZ got a lift with an update on their ALS trial program. Worth a read.
Some European nations have been moving their gold reserves out of the US. I do hope Australia has its gold reserves in Australia.
Japan’s currency has slumped but we wouldn’t go there in the hot sticky month of September.

We are heading to Sydney tomorrow to get ready for an AFL football match.
The ASX futures are up a bit but the prospect of interest rate hikes is keeping our Australian share market quite subdued..
I picked up some Atlas Arteria at almost 70 cents less than the $5.10 takeover bid. Quite happy to have sold and then can buy them back.

We are going to Melbourne for the AFL Grand Final this week.
Started to nibble at SPZ which is Smart Parking.
To help fix Australia’s problems I think it is high time to let pensioners work without losing their pension to help make Australia more productive.

We are all hoping for Wharfie Time in Melbourne next Saturday. We couldn’t fit everyone in our place.
Interest hike may affect some property stocks even though they hedge.
Oil prices are worse than interest rate hikes.

One of the gold stocks I hold, Northern Star Resources Ltd (ASX: NST), "confirms that it received, considered and rejected a ... proposal from Gold Fields Limited" Price up 10% on opening. Might be more gold stocks in play.

Anyone here holding Southern Cross Gold Consolidated - SX2 ? A mining guy pointed them out to me while we were waiting for a delayed QF flight recently. I've started to look into them, not easy to try to put a value on them as they are still drilling out what appears to be a massive gold find.

Is the resource in Canada?

I am treading water with Nordic Resources (asx:nnl) which I believe is on a winner in Finland.

Well @RSD that is one that we have watched and watched but never bought.
Instead we have lots of Genesis which is GMD.
This weekend I studied Generation Development which is GDG. On Friday GDG rallied from a years low.
For those thinking about shorting I am thinking Fortescue which is FMG could get hit.
Took a placement in OD6.

No - company is dual-listed ASX + Toronto, but resource is at Kilmore, 60 km north of Melbourne - hard to believe that it has gone undiscovered until now.

Should be a sensible place to mine with low sovereign risk - which ticks a huge box for me - hopefully it will work out well!

Are you staying out still due to the difficulty of valuing it or other reasons? I've still got to do some more researching on them to try to get my head around it - I'm recovering from Influenza A so have a few quiet days ahead to do that. Share price is drifting down at the moment so it might suit an entry soon if it looks like it stacks up.

Cheers - I will take a look at those. I haven't really been looking for quite a while, AUQ is finally starting to awaken from its snoozefest for myself and @CaptainCurtis - an updated resource and life of mine due any day, and last quarter they shipped a record amount of copper concentrate so the quarterly should give the shre price a bit more of a boost when it is released.

A little bit of humour here.
LMAO!! About sums it up! The latest is that the Tas EPA are looking at them really closely - seems like Firmus might have told them a bunch of porkies about how much/how often they planned to use their diesel generators - and it is all coming to light after the local council included what they told the EPA in their approval conditions - and now Firmus is appealing those conditions.

Not really undiscovered. I get a few newsletters. Two of them have had it as a buy. One of them over 12 months ago.

but mining small stocks have had a shocking month falling heavily. Possibly still more to go.

And Cove have you hacked me. You are getting some of the companies I have . OD6 is about to become Adaved- which is Nevada backwards where their project is.

Sorry - meant undiscovered as in the gold not the company :)

SX2 seems like a stock that you buy and just put into the drawer until a major comes along and writes a big cheque.

Good to know - as I mentioned I haven't really been following the market too closely other than AUQ - when it gets to 30 cents I retire.
