What cheeses me off

WCMO is when I'm in the office and colleagues start chatting loudly right next to my desk. So I have to put on my noise cancelling headphones.

WCMO even more is when they see me do this and think that it is OK to continue their chat. They don't even move away!

WCMO even, even more is when my headphones don't autopair with my phone. The music then comes out of my phone. Now I'm annoying my neighbours!

I say : "You must be glad the renovations are nearly done

Me - after a short pause, slowly state : " We have been very accommodating over the past few months......

Tonight, Mr Foul Mouth's car first blocks our driveway for ten minutes. No big deal.

Then his Sixt hire van unloading stuff blocks driveway for well over an hour


He knows we are home - we live here, lights are on. No big deal.

We then get a call from Surfer Flyfrequently, she's been a bit crook and needs another Ventolin puffer, can we scoot to the Chemist for her please?
Sure.
Head next door to ask to move van, Pr*^k doesn't answer my door knock.

Had to walk to her house (no big deal) to take her car, but why should I ?

An airline won't let you use frequent flyer benefits (i.e. status) unless you set that to be the programme you wish to credit the flight to.

I know some airlines are tightening up on this, and some of them it was never worth the trouble trying to put separate FQTV and FQTS...

That number takes me to City of Geelong ( across the bay) and "office is closed , please call back in business hours"!
Pr^*k built his place (their holiday house) and ours next door (his investment property) 20 years ago.
We bought it from him 13 years ago - it's like he thinks he still owns it!

I took a punt which side you are on. Some councils have an app or online facility for after hours reporting. Where I am now they'll respond and book someone across my driveway within an hour.

I feel like I am dealing with German trains again. Today we were happily booked to go to Cambridge. From around 03:30 there have been massive disruptions on this line due to 'power failure'. Our train was cancelled and we paid for another train and after payment was taken the booking failed. Refunds are apparently on the way

We have now bought dearer tickets for a slower train. But at least we are now onboard and heading in the right direction


Edit: And now complete with a loud phone talker who thinks we are all fascinated with the minutia of his boring life.

Not sure if this helps but when I lived in Melbourne we lived in dead end street near common booze bus site. Cars often quickly drove in parked anywhere and left.
Often over driveways.
When we informed council we were given phone number to call - a mobile 24/7 - and they respond.
Might be worth sending a detailed email with photos about the timeline and explaining you are the emergency contact for an ill family member. That you had to walk to her house as access blocked.

Because none of us want bad relations with neighbours there are those who take advantage of that while the others are continually harassed. He will continue to do this because he gets away with it. Your daughters situation may have come close to a medical emergency.

Agree. Also, police can fine them for blocking a driveway so unless you change his incentive structure, his behaviour will not change. What a jerk...seriously some people are just so rude.

If this has really only arisen while the neighbour has been renovating, hopefully you are right. If it continues or is part of an ongoing behaviour, then at the risk of destroying any remaining 'good will' you may need/want to take some action.

It's probably a bit late now, but for shorter runs in the UK I have found the buses to be quicker and cheaper e.g. London to Oxford or Cambridge. The only downside is where their terminals are located.

In NSW only the police has to power to remove a vehicle and contact its owner.
So calling the police usually results in:
Police trying to contact owner to move the car.
Time is NOT of the essence here. So they may or may not issue a fine and they will take their time to have the car towed - if at all.

The fine is only issues if the var is across the driveway - meaning that it blocks pedestrian access across the driveway, not that it blocks the home owner's access.

@Flyfrequently is in VIC, not NSW. In either state police will attend, particularly if they think it is relates to a criminal act (threats and intimidation) and will approach owner of vehicle and tell them to move it which is what the OP wanted. It also creates a paper trail should neighbour escalate to the stage of needing a PPO to keep him in his box.

Thanks all, periodically in summer, he or his mates pull their scooters into our driveway if we are out.
As my car is smaller, I pull in behind and block them in. They then have to move their car.
For 85 -90% of the time, life is harmonious as they aren't here.

He's no good at parking anyway!
