Innovative Ideas for PER-???-CDG

I'm looking for innovative ideas for flying from Perth to Paris leaving around 5 December returning around 2 January.
QF fares in J are up around $12K, other OW fares around $10K.
There is an option on separate tickets via CGK but that is with QR so would mean a transit in Doha.
Given the Middle East situation that might not be a good idea.
Have tried via DPS, KUL & BKK.
Does anyone else have any other ideas?

I was looking at a staging flight (J but on OD so almost Y) to CGK but the cheap J fare onwards is with QR so it means transiting Doha.
I can't find any comparably cheap fares from anywhere else in Asia to CDG.

Seems there are no longer any direct flights.

IMHO … about 5% higher than the normal risk of flying through the Middle East.

As you'd expect, I'd be very relaxed about it. I'll tell you of my experience in November, when I have a 2 day stopover there.

Safety: 95% of normal
Certainty: 90% of normal
Risks - manageable.

I have an arrangement with my Travel agent - if for some reason flights are closed and I'm stuck, I'll get driven into Saudi and go on from there.

I think the best chances of ‘certainty’ are with a ME carrier. I think most european airlines have suspended their flights there.

There’s a platinum (OWE) lounge in Doha. Others will have the scoop on CGK and CDG

You get the third tier Platinum lounge in Doha

CGK-PEK-CPH is around 2950 AUD in Business.
CGK-PEK-CDG is around 3100 AUD in Business.

Unfortunately the super cheap fares seem to include the AI 777 into CDG, with angled lie flats.

A bit of playing around might be able to score an ex Vistara 789 with full flats, or a refurbished 788 / new a350. Making it a sweet deal!

I was going to suggest CX ex CGK but they’re 2x the price we paid for our current trip (and next years - usually ~A$4.5k).

UL is ~A$4.3k, but it’s an A321 CGK<->CMB so I assume recliner seats (both “day flights”).

Done it a couple of times. At CGK for OWE flying QR on a Lite fare you still gets the PP Sapphire Lounge - it’s the same lounge I’ve used flying QF (although the OW website now list something else for QF) I’ll find out next week if it’s changed! Only CX PAX get to use the far superior PP First Lounge.

DOH - as above but sometimes the cheap QR fares are only “Lite” in one direction, so you have full lounge access on the other.

CDG - no idea at the moment. Is QR back at T1? The QR lounge there was quite good - if has reopened? But there’ll be something for OWE/S.

Could have been overflow? The Sapphire lounge can get quite busy at times - being a catch all lounge for a lot of airlines.
