What cheeses me off

Logged in to myGov two nights ago to deal with some CBR palaver.

Tonight I get this email:

We've noticed sign in activity on your myGov account from a new or unrecognised device.

Date and time: 14 September 2026, <time redacted> Canberra time

Thanks myGov, that was me.

But if it wasn’t me and was actually a hacker, do you really think letting me know a full 48 hours later is helpful?!!

So tempted but they have cameras everywhere including one aimed directly at our place. I’ve kept the video I made just in case.
I've been through this 4 yrs ago, Unfortunately you cannot do anything about the cameras. FYI nor can you do anything about strong lights aimed at the neighbours.

Usually this happens within minutes.

I get this message within a minute or two of logging in usually. Weird it too so long.

Oh I can't complain about their cameras, it just stops me doing this. Because this is the view of their place from our amera and we put ours in first.

But even weirder. There was some nefarious stuff happening overnight a few months ago and the Regional Police Station contacted MrP urgently. They knew we had a camera, and they knew his mobile. We hadn't had any contact with any police for decades.

I was waiting to deposit a couple of cheques at the local Westpac bank today. And waiting, and waiting. There were 2 queues, one for the cashier, the other for the concierge. The concierge will deposit cheques and this removes some of the cashier burden. So standing in the concierge line for 12-15minutes and no progression for the 2 people ahead of me, nor for the cashier line. This couple arrive and the woman, unaccustomed to waiting steps up to the concierge and starts asking questions about what she hoped to achieve. I was a bit surprised and after she had occupied the concierge for 60 seconds and did not look like stopping I spoke loudly so the entire room could hear, telling her there are 2 queues and she is no more important than anyone else in the bank so get back and wait. She and her husband said nothing and she assumed her rightful position on the end of the queue. This kind of overtly entitled behaviour really, really cheeses me off.

I deposited a cheque at NAB a while ago online, using pics of the cheque. Even longer ago, I nearly threw hands with a french guy in BKK who started a new queue at a money changer, and refused to believe that the queue everyone else was in was for both tellers.

Oh yes, this happens to me a lot. And not just Bunnings. Have had similar experiences with BigW and Kmart in the past week.
Usually the web says no stock for my Target and there are usually one or two on the shelf. Annoying when they cancel your click and collect, then you walk in and its right there!
