Depends on budget and location.
Our go to has always been the Banyan Tree and we find the Bukit Bintang area the best for what we want. The BT is pricey for KL but amazing views. We have also enjoyed the Sofitel, great service and good value but a bit further out from the action. Is close to PT and Grabs are dirt cheap. Last stay in KL was at the Pullman which is next door to the BT and is great value plus fantastic service. The Pullman and Sofitel both have good EL’s if you have status.
The Sofitel is across the road from a new Pavilion shopping centre which has a metro station but not a lot else in immediate area.
The BT and Pullman are next door and the BT has a covered walkway to the older Pavilion shopping centre over the main road and the Pullman guests can use this walkway too.
All 3 are great options IMO

The DT is a bit old but has the benefit of being above a supermarket/liquor store, and has a range of breakfast options. I don’t rate any of the KL Accor properties highly, there are plenty of alternatives.

My parents and I are going to Kuala Lumpur next month, and my suggestion of the Sofitel Kuala Lumpur didn't quite convince them, due to some spotty reviews about cleanliness and the location, but honestly, they weren't dealbreakers for me personally. So, we are staying in the Hilton Kuala Lumpur. As a platinum, there are three hotels to consider for lounges: the Sofitel, the Novotel, the Pullman.

Just a note, but KL (from what I understand) has heavy traffic at certain hours of the day. So you might like to factor that in.

Stayed at Novotel last trip, Sofitel the one before.

Novotel is also in Bukit Bintang and right by the Pavilion shopping centre (Also right by the skybridge that lets you walked to Twin Towers area). Rooms itself are decent but nothing crazy. Lounge is ok on the first floor.

Sofitel is definitely nicer, but a bit further out. We got an upgrade to Junior Suite last time we were there although we were too tired to goto the lounge (unexpected stay due to rerouting).

Came across this thread just now.
I have stayed at five of the hotels in KL mentioned above.
First the Hiltons. Doubletree is nice but one side of the hotel faces the apartment next door so unless you can avoid them for sure you will look at nothing. In that part of Ampang, you have Jaya Grocer supermarket (good for imported incl Aussie foods but cheaper to wait till you get home unless no healthy alternative) & food places in the Intermark plaza below. Walk over the airbridge to the Intercon hotel and some more local foods. Walkable from there to the Traders Hotel KLCC but then a long walk to Suria KLCC shopping centre and the twin towers unless you can sneak on the free hotel buggy. Lounge offering is on the weaker side.
Hilton Sentral, above Sentral station and its PT convenience. Very nice rooms, great lounge (ambience/food & drink offering). I actually don't like it's location that much.
Novotel KLCC - great less pricey option. Treats platinum guests well. Every stay I've received upgrade to a suite (not the best corner suites though) Not sure if any other Novotel has a club lounge and the food is ok. Wine, always 2 reds, 2 whites (bonus 1 of each is always Aussie of drinkable standard). Bukit Bintang convenience, airbridge to Pavilion Shopping mall. Cosway mall across the road for cheap local foods. Same bridge (air-conditioned so comfortable but nowhere along the way to sit to rest) leads to a long walk to Suria KLCC shopping mall, I quite like this hotel. The lobby cafe makes a decent barista pulled latte (rare in KL) The attendant seems to be trained to use them, just like they do here in Aust.
Pullman, on an adjacent road to the Novotel. Connected to the Pavilion by airbridge inside the BanyanTree next door. My pick of the 3 Accors I've stayed at. Nice rooms, best club lounge of the three. Classy plates of the day where you can have multiple of. The wine changes regularly and I've had some very good French Bordeaux, Spanish Tempranello, Aussie Cab Sav. It's recently invested in barista style coffee machines but unfortunately not many staff have been properly trained to use them (definitely not the ground floor restaurant where it's free for ALL elites otherwise RM26 each at breakfast).
Sofitel Damansara, new Pavilion shopping mall across the road, older DC mall next door with a Jaya Grocer supermarket in the basement and mainly food outlets. Nice rooms but cheap not well padded bed mattresses. Great pillows though. The club lounge wine offering is the poorest of the 3 Accors (even though it's the only one with a sparkling wine plus 1 red, 1 white). The food offering is probably on par with the Novotel. Classier surroundings but quality wise, no better than. It has barista coffee machines but the staff in the lobby cafe have no clue to making a good coffee. It's the cheapest Grab ride from KLIA. The MRT station is connected to the Pavilion Damansara so only 4 stations to Bukit Bintang. It's location is ok, still very convenient.

Hope this rather detailed rundown from my perspective helps. Wonder if there's a limit in the permitted length of a post.

If you' like shopping centres, you must not miss Mid Valley in Bangsar with its Mega Mall and the Gardens-food, shops galore. Cheap LRT ride to Abdullah Hukum station to access or Grab ride from Sentral (just as cheap but less time consuming it you're staying at Hilton Sentral).

Quite common in Asia and some are really good

Asia has many lounges where you wouldn't expect them based on brand standards, particularly in Malaysia.

Novotels in KL, Bangkok, Danang and Saigon for example.

Crowne Plaza KL, and even Holiday Inn Sepang (Airport) have lounges, As well as the IC
As do DT KL, Putrajaya and Johor Bahru, as well as the two Hilton's in KL
