The private jet doesn't offer any additional benefits for higher status! Really makes it pointless to fly them at all if you can't accrue status credits

Hi I need 160 status points to reach lifetime silver with the current double status offer has any one got any suggestions on the best itinerary to take to achieve this, not bothered about destination but must leave from and return to Brisbane. Or is not worth chasing as I'm a life member for Qantas Club.

Brisbane to Newcastle in business class return will net 160SC
Can be done as a turnaround and it’s pretty cheap.

Hey, thanks so much for everyone's help and patience! Even when it seemed like I was asking the same question yet again.

We just booked all our flights to qualify for platinum 1400 DSC by early next yr, starting from 0 SC as soon as our Qantas anniversary clicks over next month. Interestingly AMEX was cheaper than Qantas for one of the itineraries despite often being more expensive as Amex sometimes can't see cheaper fares. Worked out well as able to use my Amex yearly travel credit.

We're taking early retirement end of year and looking forward to travelling a lot more while we can.
Now just need to do some research for Business class seats to Japan, Europe and US. Maybe we'll need to buy a One World ticket, as already used our pts for the Qantas OW business award.

Lifetime Silver is a nice to have. It depends on your travel preferences how much value it would provide for you compared with just having QANTAS Club.

Silver gives OneWorld Ruby benefits so some benefits when flying partner airlines like BA and AA.

Silver gets extra points when flying QF compared with Bronze and is higher in the upgrade queue.

The lounge passes for Silver would be handy if travelling on a QF flight at off peak times with an extra guest above your entitlement as a QANTAS Club member

4x return double credit trips to Sydney in cheapest economy would get you 160SC (40SC for each return trip).

Depending on your spending patterns the up to 140 SC a year on the ground starting in December could make sense to use to get some of the 160 SC you need.

LTS also provides OW Biz checkin for ever more - that’s not to be sniffed at.

As is free seat selection on many OW airlines (although that perk varies a lot across airlines).

With the new QF changes, PA (and I assume LTS) we get an extra lounge pass?
