My thinking is, as my PC banner says expiry June 2027 and today's DSC promo is up to August '27, SC's from CR will cease end August/September 2027.

If you attain/retain it, it will be valid till the end of your following membership year. Your membership year end date depends on when you became a QFF member.

So anyone got some decent runs in mind with this promotion bearing in mind some fares seem quite expensive in biz compared to VA on some routes. As usual, limited to zilch out of Perth.

ust booked a DSC classic reward for Oct, CBR-SYD-BNE-MKY-BNE-SYD-CBR (with an overnight stay in MKY) for 58,000 pts and $534.42 in taxes/charges. By my calculation, it should return 216 SC and put me over the line for Platinum until Aug 2028.

This was the best classic reward itinerary I could find in terms of points per SC. Hopefully it will credit even though the Points Club is being shut down.

So anyone got some decent runs in mind with this promotion bearing in mind some fares seem quite expensive in biz compared to VA on some routes. As usual, limited to zilch out of Perth.

I was investigating some CR options recently in terms of points per SC (taxes hard to consider unless i price them individually, and assume that you can get seats released as WP). Some other options Claude suggested - not necessarily doable given the 24hr limit and current schedules... perhaps starting with a red eye over to mel it could be done.

I'm trying to see the value in buying tickets to places you don't really want to be at a time when you really don't want to go just to earn double sc for a few very limited perks that, besides queue jumping, you could pay for it yourself for a lot cheaper. It's invariably thousands of dollars for a few perks that are like whoopydoo. If you put as much energy into making money, you'd be a multimillionaire or billionaire and have your own jet or can afford to fly without bothering with all this.
We're trying to buy enough in the next year to get platinum, mucking round with the glitchy Qantas site and thought we really don't want to be in Cairns in January, nor Denpasar! Nor do we want to fly to Melbourne, <redacted>, just to catch a flight to Cairns via Brisbane in January!!

*Seriously, after hours of reading, researching and searching over the last few days, we finally realised, we'd rather spend double the amount and earn half the SC to go where and when we actually really want to go!

There are those too that might be close to lifetime gold… so combining a sweet spot status run now can lead to lifetime benefits later when retired, or you’ve lost the travel bug!

In any individual year, a QF club membership might be cheaper than doing a status run… but getting to lifetime gold might save you $500 a year for 20 years down the track!

Still have a massive travel bug. Would travel all year if other half agreed!

Even finally worked out 2 actual itineraries that could get us platinum and was in the process of booking right before my previous post, but thanks to the Qantas site glitch during entering our details, we came to our senses & realised we don't want to go to Cairns or Denpasar again so soon and would rather go elsewhere and pay more for the business class seats to where we want to go.

ex Japan fares to NZ are good value and allow free stops in SYD/MEL/BNE i.e. book two halves of Japan holidays and an NZ getaway in between on a single fare. Nets circa 800-900 SC.

But also, why not take your private jet?

This was my go to run back in the day… did from LAX and LAS. Good to see it’s still around. Hotel at SJU easy to get to and bar in the airport precinct was decent for a meal without having to leave the airport. Was preferable for me over the Haiti runs back in the 2010s as I didn’t technically leave USA.

Hello again. Advice please. After all that, we just paid for the CNS-MEL-BNE-DPS route with 6 "Business Sale" flights.

Three of the QF flights are operated by SUBSIDIARY/FRANCHISE.
Is that OK, and are they still eligible for the DSC for QF flights? (Gemini says yes.)

Can anyone help working out the SC please? It didn’t show before booking in Multi search and doesn’t seem to show in confirmation email.

You could find some of the flights are QANTASLink flights operated by Alliance Airlines. Yes they would earn the normal QF SC and DSC. Of late they have incorrectly been crediting as Classic Plus flights sometimes, but if that happens you can call up and get this fixed.

So CNS-BNE, BNE-MEL and BNE-CNS each earn 60 SC plus the DSC.

Yes you can book a codeshare, no it won't be eligible for DSC.

• QF 45 MEL-DPS 120SC
• QF 46 DPS-MEL 120SC

So with DSC you'll get 960 SC.
