Had not ever looked at Firefly until today so it was a good read.

As bit frustrating though. They release good news and the share price goes down usually.

Well @drron that has been happening to quite a few stocks where I read a good report and the shares go down like a Coles promo. Down down the prices are down!
We are getting some PC Gold shares in a placement today.

I am no where near being able to participate in those shares placements but I love researching resources companies 40 years ago I was good friends with a fellow who was the CEO of a WA gold company and he taught me a lot.
At present I feel like I am being stalked by Hancock Prospecting. Of the last 7 companies I have bought they have come along and bought into 5 of them.

We received 20% of our bid for the FireFly placement.
Decided to get some Smart Parking shares before they start their share buyback in September.

With the whispers that Bain are ready to exit Virgin Air we sold out.

With Fridays results announced, I think Bain's shares are now out of escrow.
The dividend of 7.6c represents $60M, c.f. their profit includes $75M in COVID credits .

Wilson Asset WAM had a horror result.They may have damaged their brand.
Very happy with the Waterco result. That was a good read with 44 cents per share earnings.
We don’t have too many VGN shares but their result was ok. We sold quite few on the Bain rumour.
Happy with Pepper taking on some HSBC business.

Wilson Asset WAM had a horror result.They may have damaged their brand.

My stop loss settings took me out of WAM and WAR back in May/June. It sounds as though I have dodged a bullet with WAM.

Don't have WAM fortunately, but did test the world of LICs with a very small purchase of WLE (wam leaders). Lesson learnt. Still have them, waiting to get out with even a ½ decent return.
Issue of new shares ( @2.5% discount) closes Monday. A very weak method of growing an LIC business ( i.e. their 1% fee), gives me even less confidence.

Interesting that Kohler has personally gone to cash, just another data point in fragile times

I spoke to a (successful) market timer, Marcus Padley, for this week's subscriber-only Talking Finance podcast because he has gone to 100% cash. As he explained, for him it's all about risk and reward - he can't see that the reward from here is worth the risk. I feel the same, and my portfolio is roughly 70% cash.

I spoke to a (successful) market timer, Marcus Padley, for this week's subscriber-only Talking Finance podcast because he has gone to 100% cash. As he explained, for him it's all about risk and reward - he can't see that the reward from here is worth the risk. I feel the same, and my portfolio is roughly 70% cash.

I followed/subscribed to Marcus Padley for a while, found him very conservative. Nothing wrong with that if it aligns with your situation.

I love Marcus Padley and didn’t realise he had a podcast. The subscription is rather steep for someone like me who would just like the podcast. Do you find the other resources useful?

It is possible that the RBA could lift the official cash rate in the next 90 days as inflation is still a problem.
We have our industrial rents linked to the CPI.

Mine are CPI or minimum / maximum whichever is greater.
Interest rates will be going up. RBA erred.
