Friend of mine is trying to book Prague to Brisbane next 10 May, Virgin codeshare on QR. For the 3 options that day, economy seats come up as Virgin Rewards, but no revenue seats. Searching on QR, there are economy revenue seats aplenty.

Ignoring why they might want to book VA rather than QR, can anyone suggest why there may be reward seats and not revenue, booking via Virgin?

Easy....the VA codeshare can only be booked when travel originates in Australia...that is the same for all VA partners. Reward seats are never codeshare.

I think they are filling seats, just not getting the fares they were hoping for .... Yields have definitely taken a hit.

After booking in J last year for our flight to Europe via Doha (only J to DOH) I was sweating for months after the Iran thing blew up and flights were cancelled for three months. But in the end we flew (August) and it all went smoothly. Mrs Warks now doesn't want to fly any other way of course (her first J INT flight). I do have the points to do it again but until that part of the world settles down again (will it ever?) I won't rush to book another. Can't afford it anyway for a couple of years!
