JAL 777-300ER back on Sydney route

Is there any rhyme or reason to swapping them? Early Aug was 777 then more recently 787 (I saw one take-off on Thursday). We're flying out on 5 Sep and JAL show 787, while Google Flights shows 777.
Only JAL knows the answer to that riddle...

Clicking through a Google Flights link, takes me to JAL, who are showing 777.

FYI lots of F awards (but 1 per flight) SYD-HND every day 1 Nov ~ 29 Nov and 25 Jan ~ 10 Feb. Can't find any returns.

Didn't try too hard but immediately found a HND - SYD.

I think the problem is the same as highlighted upthread, you can't find it exTYO search. Only as an exAustralia search as part of a return. So multi city calendar is useless and award search sites are useless.

Ah, I should've known better given I had this exact issue last year.
