Where's the wonderful Turners? :)

Such a pity the Whistler restaurant is closed. Used to be brilliant for lunch. Great food and one of best small bottle cellars in London.
I went to that restaurant on your recommendation and didn't realise it had closed. It was lovely

The penultimate night on our road trip from Canberra, down along the Great Ocean Road, and back. To break up the trip from Melbourne to Canberra I thought of Milawa. Looking on Luxury Escapes site I found a great deal at the Lancemore Hotel, which surprise surprise is across the road from Brown Brothers Winery.

We're kicking back on the balcony enjoying the sunset with a bottled of what I think is one of the best, and best priced Australian sparklings, their Patricia NV Sparkling.

There is a school of thought that Turner hid his issues with detail in some of those misty paintings. But we were on our third visit over the last 15 years and were looking for what we had missed previously, rather than what we had seen.

Sorry about the oblique angles, but just couldn't get the stragglers from a guided tour to move!

That's not a Turner. That's a John Singer Sargent. These are Turners. Alomsot a whole wing of 9 rooms and more full.

This lounge confuses me with their beer options. No Indian beer on offer. Crazy!
At 3pm there is no beer - tea, coffee, water and soft drinks. The restaurant down off the lobby is closed from 4 “for deep fumigation” - I’m hoping the lounge snacks will be enough to save me needing to venture out in the heat

Head to the sports bar next door at the Novotel. Can use your welcome drink there.
