Hi all, advise please. I have been paying for Voyager membership for a couple of years. I have just signed up for Explorer and recieved the 30 free status nights etc.
My understanding is i cannot recieve status nights for both memberships so my question is, do I really need to renew my Voyager membership when it comes due.
TIA

Correct, no point. The 20 nights from Voyager won't be credited as there is a maximum of 30 across paid programs. Likewise the 15% discount Voyager provides is now a benefit of explorer and the guaranteed room benefit comes with gold (which is automatically achieved through explorer) so there is zero benefit to renewing the voyager.

Thanks very much. This is exactly what I thought but just wanted confirmation. Thanks

Looking around, I see as a Platinum gift I can get 30% off a Voyager membership.

These are €179, so, €129 = ~$205

By the end of next month I'll have 40+ BiB status nights, so the 20 from Voyager should see me requalify Platinum to end of next year.

I still have a Stay plus expiring Dec. 31. Also, I don't use the dining discounts that often and not for much.

I'm considering invoking this rather than the Explorer - which I could enrol afresh next year as appropriate.

No point paying for explorer if you don't use it and voyager is cheaper however with stay plus you should in theory be able to recoup the cost of the program making those extra 30 nights cost neutral provided you stay at least 2x2 nights in Asia/Pacific where the rate is over ~$175.

My 2026 explorer was AU$342 but came with 2000 points on renewal that I used about an hour later on check out to redeem for ~$65 which I would have paid otherwise, so effectively paid $277 for the year. Two "free nights" working out at $138.50 per night one used in Sydney at the Sofitel Darling Harbour room rate was $364 per night so a saving there of ~$226 and then 2nd at the Swissotel Singapore where the rate was $524 per night so saving of ~$385. Effectively I got two cheaper nights with a massive saving but the 30 free nights didn't really cost anything.
