Kris+ app

Wish I had of known sbout this sooner!

12ppd in KF miles is way better than a 20x EDR or Flybuys offer which you always have to halve in value. I value KF as 2c per point, so this is like 20-24% returned in points value 😀. Pity I just bought some big ticket stuff. Noted for future

Looks like today is the last day for the 12 points per $1 then reverts to 10 points per $1. Still not a bad deal moving forward but it’s a shame it seems limited to 6x $500 cards.

Good pickup on the 6x for $500, didn't realise. All values currently out of stock anyways

Well the JB Hi-Fi tab is showing on the homepage but clicking it shows that they're restocking all cards soon. Now if you click the Black Friday/Cyber Monday tab on the homepage and click on JB Hi-Fi there it directs to a page stating that this partner is no longer available. I don't know if they've temporarily paused it or dumped them altogether but I suspect they got smashed with gift card orders.

I think it’s gone, when I tap it in the Kris+ app, it shows “This offer is no longer available on Kris+.

For anyone still interested, these are now readily available but they've been massively devalued to 3pts per $1. Better off waiting for a flybuys 20pts per $1 and still better value if you convert over to KrisFlyer.

Looks like a general round of devaluation is coming to Kris+ from 1 April - the column to pay attention to is on the right: https://www.singaporeair.com/conten...miles/krisplus/AUBonusEarnPartners_260401.pdf

Looks like food partners are going down to 9mpd, but some merchants like Gai Wong are down to 3mpd.

I don't even understand this table.

0.6 Catering & Events
Base earn rate = 3
Earn rate after Boost (from April) = 9

So that's an increase?

I don' t know; but whatever, since here in Sydney, with shops I have been to, they don't charge credit card surcharge when I pay with Kris+, so I'm already saving money on card fees, any extra SQ mile is bonus.

You don't eat at Chat Thai, do you? 🙃
Nah. We have a Thai town in Sydney, and there are about a million Thai restaurants in Sydney city. I eat where I want, then I use Kris+ to pay if available. Kris+ doesn't really have any influence on my decision making 😆

I'm from Sydney, hence my question. I know you don't eat at Chat Thai because they charge the card surcharge (unlike Ichi-ban Boshi)

Would be nice if there were more places in western Sydney that accept Kris+ considering SQ says they'll do flights to WSI ... My nearest partner is 18 km away in Burwood and I'm about 30 km out of the CBD.

Amex acceptance on Kris+ would be good like Singapore but I guess that will never happen while Mastercard have their (now coughpy) monthly rebates

You won’t be earning the base earn rate, you’re earning the “earn rate after boost”. At the moment most if not all merchants are on 10mpd so it’s a devaluation. SQ did a devaluation in Singapore last year and it was pretty brutal too.

Using it to avoid surcharges is a great idea.

imo Chat Thai isn’t very good compared to the “OG Chat Thai” in Thaitown, and the latter doesn’t take Kris+. I’ve never had to pay the CC surcharge in any of the Regent Place merchants when using Kris+.

I thought you are Melbourian, cos you mentioned a char koay teow in Mel city in the past.

It is, but not by that much?

Tenkomori and Coco bubble tea are currenly shown as 10 miles per $1 in the app. The PDF says 3 base now, 9 after. So that's going from 10 to 9? And where did they get the 3 base from?

Sydney born, bred and won’t move to Melbourne (but love visiting and looking forward to my next Lulu’s CKT fix in a few weeks’ time) :) If Kinokuniya can go down south, surely Lulu’s can expand up north!
