I’ve received three lots of 250 point BP SPEND BONUS - points dated 12 March 2026. So unfortunately not going to trigger the SC promo.

BP bonus points have landed and I finished at 90/110 SC.
Can't get the final 20 SC because the only category left was Utilities and Mrs Big John didn't like Red Energy's offering at the time.

So like a few here I bought a QF TI policy to get the SCs for a short trip, but since the cost of the TI came in under $100 (was for a short NZ trip) I added extra insurance for a special item to push the cost up to $101 and get the SCs.

This morning I got an email from Qantas saying the extra item I insured should have been covered by the base premium and that they will be refunding me the extra $. I hope this doesnt't mean they will claw back the On The Ground SCs for that category.

Very unlikely. Just enjoy the refund.

Your SC will be fine (Biting my tongue big league). Next time just add a day or so to your trip, then come home "early"

Adding an extra day would have cost more than adding the item, I played with the item value until I got just over $100 was being cheap.
