No More International Lounge Access on Jetstar Flights (except QF codeshare/JQ business max)

I think the much fairer approach here would to have said anything booked from 1 July 2026. Let people show their JQ ticket date and then wouldn’t have any of this situation.
Agree, but may be too onerous to police / too time consuming at the door? I wonder whether the ME conflict and further overcrowding in the SIN lounges may have been the proverbial straw? I used the SYD F lounge for the first time last month and was really shocked at how absolutely slammed it was compared to the MEL one...

This is so disappointing and a devaluation of status benefits.

Was it because of too many Bali holidaymakers drinking too much booze at the lounge?

Is this a stepping stone to eventually removing access to JQ domestic?

And using passes for QF pax from 1 July need to be travelling on the same flight.
No much has been said about that, so my passes are totally useless!

In some sense it was a very generous offer previously with JQ/QF arrangement. I'm not sure if there's any othrt airline out there that has similar deals with their LCC.
similar to my point earlier, it seems people have just conflated JQ=QF.

Makes my decision to get AMEX Platinum Charge later on this year even easier now.
It's too cheap not to get the Jetstar 2 for 1 sale $370 Return to Japan or South Korea so I'll just have to make do with AMEX, House or Plaza Premium lounges now....better than no lounge at all

I am confused. I am flying JQ32 DPS-MEL in late May 2026 on a Flex Plus bundle (which is no longer sold). I have QC membership. Will I be able to access the partner lounge in DPS or not?

Miles and More elites do have access to lounges when flying Eurowings or Discover. Also think the top tiers in Flying Blue have access to a limited number of lounges flying Transavia.

Could get the work experience kid to build a database heck even an internal website that has just JQ PNR and booking date. Scan boarding pass to enter PNR and it very quickly returns booking date. No other identifying information (names/flights etc) would even be needed in such system.

Easter school holidays is coming up so would give them something to do 🤣

Perhaps the situation at MEL and SYD eases the need to do that. Plus there is some competitive pressure with VA, which plays in the some of the same market as JQ.

Lounge accessibility criteria on the Qantas website would suggest not, but I will leave it to someone with personal experience to correct me as necessary.

With separate terminals in SYD and MEL, limited hours in OOL, that benefit is only half there anyway.

Don't think that ever provided lounge access. Only ever Business Max and the no longer sold Economy Max packages.

Thanks, good to know. At the time I booked, they seemed to have the most attractive departure/arrival times - and probably still do - but I'm regretting my choice to pick Jetstar.
