What cheeses me off

WCMO is spilling half a tub of grated Parmesan while retrieving it from the fridge, resulting in using the dust pan, small vacuum cleaner and rags, plus taking out two vegetable crisper drawers and clearing the bottom shelf in order to clean out little dots of Parmesan. I'm certain I haven't managed to get every single crumb that rolled under the fridge.

Yes, I was cheesed off (at the situation and myself for causing it).
You should have called me. I reckon I could have recovered most of that so you could still use it. 🙃😂🤣

An important part of learning to drive is the rules of the road but it also includes a very important lesson: You may be right, but you can also be dead right.

A lesson taught to me by my father many years ago during and after my driving formation and probationary years, it's the key reason why we need to tolerate those who break the rules or be a safety risk on the road. There's no point being in the right if you're not alive: as much as God may condemn to hell that who killed you unjustly, it's still a worse deal than being on Earth and feeling unjustly done by.

WCMO are the frivolous maniacs on the roads who drive realising and exploiting this to the fullest.

Whiney post but rude people that arent happy with free goodies. I bake for the office every 2 or 3 weeks, two different types of baking like brownies and iced cupcakes (as Im practising my piping) or brownies and muffins. Always brownies because people go nuts over them and there is never any left overs of whatever I bring in

Someone complained that I baked brownies and cinnamon muffins today - they "wanted something different today"

I said they can make their own choices and bake any time they want, I dont gatekeep baking for the office and anyone can do it. The person said "eggs and butter was too expensive to bake for the people I work with".... but it was ok to tell me what I should be doing with my eggs and my butter

Edit, some samples of office goodies

I know what my comment would have been and there would have been a lot of words starting with F

Keep up the good work and screw the wankers

Surely not. Do they think they are being ordered in or something and not your personal effort? How damn ridiculous. I'd be baking them again next week but I don't bake 😂

Yup. My edit function just censored your words.

The first part of this sounds like a contestant background/bio for the Great Australian Bake-off!! Will we be seeing you on there!?

Tin pot third world airports where car hire closes for the night before the last flight lands.

Was looking at one particular airport, and most car rental agencies close at midnight, I think Hertz seems to stay open until 1am. Yet the airport has 9 domestic flight landing between 23:30 and 00:30 and allowing time for immigration/customs and baggage collection, 6 international flights from 23:00 to 00:30.

I guess most people don't want to rent a car at that time of the night.

WCMO - bloody Xero accounting software. Among various invoices recently I hv had 3 different and unenjoyable experiences with it as a customer. One invoice failed to show p.2 when viewed on an ipad, another would not reflect a progress/installment payment and insisted the full amount was due when it wasnt, and the most recent would not permit any alteration to the amount I was paying (when a significant deduction was due) and the invoice was so inflexible it had to be c/card, Bpay or you input your bank details, because Xero wasnt about to show the issuers' bank info. Might be good for bookkeepers and accountants but its not for the rest of us.

Australia doesn’t always present the best service.

Agree

When Mrs QS got a tibia fracture in japan, she had superlative service from Japan - Shinkansen and train station attendants and airport.
Arrival back into SYD, wheelchair service organised but they could not push the wheelchair past the exit glass doors at arrival:mad:.
And anyone familiar with SYD knows there is no kerbside pickup on arrival except for taxis/rideshares but we had a car organised.

So eventually she managed to go upstairs to departures on her crutches where there is kerbside dropoff (pickup in her case).
Still, got yelled at by the departure kerbside dragons as it is not pickup but drop off only

going through Haneda they had everything organised for him
It was extremely good in Japan

At the dropoff at the Shinkansen station, she was on crutches and proceeded to go to the station
Out of the blue a uniformed attendant rushed out with a wheelchair.
From there the attendant organised an escort to ensure she got onto the right platform, right door, and ensured she was settled in her seat before the train left , escorts to meet her at each of the 2 intermediate stops at her exact train door with a wheelchair to get her to the next platform and at HND airport station where the HND agents took over. It was not requested but just simply offered

I fear the behaviour of tourists in Japan might affect this level of customer care.

WCMO. Been sitting on this 2 decades. This weekend MrsP is going down the coast for a couple of days with her middle sister (#2) to visit the next youngest one (#3) who she does not get on with. MrsP gets on with her (sister #3) in small doses but #2 and #3 clash. 2 decades ago whilst working as a nurse for some super-wealthy pommy she met this Yank, Jerry, in the Bahamas who is a friend of aforementioned employer. Jerry is not super-wealthy (unfortunately for sister #3 ...hahaha) but they married and he is now living down the coast with his Aussie bride. I think he's decided he likes us better than his family in US. He keeps flying "home" but keeps getting disappointed his kids don't treat him as well as the really adult step kids here. Anyway, I tried to make nice with this fella. Everytime they'd fly back to Oz I'd hand him a bottle of Sailor Jerry spiced rum...get it? Just a bonding arrangement. He has never reciprocated, not even opening the bottle and sharing a few drinks together, so I gave up trying. Too much other stuff going on in my life to bother with this soppy septic.
Luckily I am not going down the coast with them. There, that feels better. :)
