Qantas Business Class meals & menus

First time posting in this thread -LMK if this is not the correct place.

Here are some of the meals from my QF status run in J OOL-MEL-AKL-MEL-OOL over the weekend.

The 2 chicken dishes were both delicious. Very much enjoyed the Lombard Champagne MEL-AKL. The Duval-Leroy is always nice and enjoyed a few glasses on the way back, even though it was a 6am departure. I'm pretty sure I was the only one partaking at that time lol

Bagel for breakfast was tasty too.

I'm moving my status from VF to QF. Quite happy with the decision so far.

The bento set has been “enhanced” and I will just leave it at that. I only ate the egg roll and fish . Neil’s green salad is listed under mains …..IMG_0760.jpegIMG_0762.jpegIMG_0765.jpeg

Only for supper flights - if it's lunch or dinner the Japanese set menu remains the same.
In contrast this was the supper served last year for the same flight back on 19 Jan 2025.

Cheese platter or filo pastry with curried chickpeas. Nice entertainment watching a bunch of irate German family kept going on about how ridiculous Qantas was that they could not all sit together. There’s 12 seats, 4 taken up by other passengers, 1 defective seat. I would say Qantas did a very good job trying to put the majority of them together taking up all row three and 3 seats across in row 1 without stuffing the rest of us around as I had also been moved from my original seat with no notice. Kudos to Richard - CSM for maintaining things calm. He was proactive in welcoming me on board and offered me first selection of meals IMG_0768.jpeg
Yes, was a change towards end of last year to serve the hot component in the box instead of two courses.
I’m ok. With that. It’s the food inside the box that’s underwhelming …..no excuse to reduce the quality even if it’s supper and shortened.

HBA-MEL 10:20 flight. Two hot options. Frittata with sausages or pumpkin and halloumi quiche.
IMG_6649.jpeg
Frittata dish was tasty. In the oven for too long (quiche looked like it too).

Great service from Isi who was very apologetic to pax afterward when the frittata ran out.

Double catering fail ex-Hobart as usual. But I was happy with the options and enjoyed the meal.

ADL-SYD 9am flight. Options were egg on muffin with sausage, or a sweet coconut and lemon bread with fruit.

IMG_6663.jpeg
Egg and cheese muffin was very good. Warm but not overcooked. Kale and tomato also tasty.

But the sausage. Was instantly transported back to my school tuck shop days having a saveloy. Terrible awful quality. I’m well used to Neil Perry slop and the regular calls wondering if he actually knows what food is served in his name, but surely even he cannot have sanctioned this. Particularly disappointing given departure from Adelaide where you would expect some basic standards. …

Good service from CSM Peter and overall a good flight. Sausage notwithstanding.

Reheated Mconalds?

Having spent more time than I care to remember supervising and observing in various Maccas and other kitchens in lives past — I can safely say no, this was actually far superior to fast food brekky sandwiches.

It was fine.
i’ve found them to be quite good! But rhubarb ain’t my favourite :(

Best i ever had was an apricot pastry - breakfast for a SYD-MEL - with a half apricot buried in the middle. During the heating process the apricot had cooked and turned to a gel so that when you bit in it oozed out a bit like a chocolate lava cake, except apricot!

MEL-ADL mid afternoon flight. Options were described as chicken pie or Mediterranean plate.

IMG_6656.jpegPie came with spiced beans and dhal. Being generous (and channeling my old man) would be to say the chef maybe once walked past a hen house. - that’s how little chicken there was in the pie. But it was pretty tasty and definitely well prepared so I guess one shouldn’t complain too much.

And that nasty, wizened 'Danish'. Gah. Looks horrible.
They may sometimes not look crash hot but always absolutely delish.
I had one flight where the CSM kept the whole tray to hand over to the ground staff at the airbridge (prearranged I'm sure). For a split second I was going to complain about missing out (1C waiting to disembark sees everything) but I like that CSM so that disgraceful negative thought was immediately dispelled.

MEL-SYD lunch time flight: Absolutely delightful crew and food quite decent, choice of Ravioli (which I had) and some vile sounding chicken salad with… Pumkin  🤢 😬 . Ravioli was somewhat spoilt by these god awful fizzly Spinach leaves but otherwise rather tasty.

IMG_0114.jpeg

Really good red from the Coonawarra, followed by two cheeky mini bottles of the Starward whiskie which I find as good or better than many proper Scotch whiskies. The crew even snug another bottle into my paper cup upon landing, long after the captain had instructed the crew to prepare the cabin for landing- now that’s what I call a good crew! ;)

Zucchini fritters
PXL_20260220_205812338.jpg

Passable, the fritters were a bit dry. Other option was a croque monsieur.

Kale & egg white omelette
PXL_20260220_231453748.jpg

Came with an unexpected serve of refried beans (?) which had a decent Latin American spice kick. The egg tart was one of the best bakery items I've had on QF for a long time: served warm, gooey in the centre and with a crispy crust.

Goat's cheese dome
PXL_20260220_231445183.jpg

The FA hyped it up and I was intrigued, so we gave it a go. The "dome" was delicious, fresh and full of goats cheese with herbs mixed in. The assortment of items did feel a bit disjointed though - especially the giant lettuce leaves 😂 I guess this is a breakfast take on the ploughman's plate.

Prosciutto and bocconcini salad
IMG-20260222-WA0007.jpg

Served on a bed of rocket, artichoke and salad rice. No complaints, was a good portion.

Chicken curry with basmati rice
PXL_20260222_030653481.jpg

Again no complaints, had it several times on QF and it's very consistent. 2/10 on the spicy scale

The ricotta cheese cake served on the side was delish

PXL_20260222_032552876.jpg

Yeh I had that curry with the ricotta cheese cake the other day and indeed the cake is nice however the basmati was so overcooked on the curry unfortunately - yours looks a bit better
