I am off to Mel with Mrs for a few days in Feb. Does anyone have any recommendations for nice hotel with exec lounge? Will be nice to have a relaxed pre dinner drink

The exec lounge at Hilton South Wharf is pretty decent, and has a nice balcony area.

I prefer the Grand or Park Hyatts. The Grand Hyatt has just had a $40M refurb of public areas and the club lounge with great views of the Skyline. The Park Hyatt has a slightly more boutique feel.

Club Sofitel on Floor 50 is pretty hard to pass up up the Paris end of town.

I love Ru-co at Grand Hyatt! But it's a public bar rather than exec lounge.

There are several good bars for that sort of thing in Melbourne - any reason why it needs to be a part of the exec lounge of whichever hotel you stay at?

The crawl back to the room needs to be as short as possible post dinner

Is money an object?

+1 on Hilton SW - not the highest lounge but nice decor, fairly big and the decor of the room is nice and calming too.

Crystal Club at Crown Towers. Best hotel + best exec lounge in Australia. The casino downstairs may make it expensive though.

thanks for all tips. We will both be on 6am flights from NZ, Mrs KT to Mel and me to Syd on LAN, then Mel. It will be nice to meet up in hotel lounge and see if we feel like going out or just kick back. Hilton looks nice.
