Here is the latest regarding the Y+ setup on the 737s as from the CSM via the cabin crew.

Where the between J and Y dividers are still in place, that means the J cabin hasn't been reconfigured yet so row 4 of the Y+ rows will have a massive legroom. This will shrink to it's intended leg space after the J cabin is also spaced out. This is the case with VH-VXR (late aircraft change from VXJ) operating the delayed QF737 today. Row 4 temporarily having about 1½ times more legroom than the unreconfigured row 1.

Where the divider is missing, the J cabin has been reconfigured with better J legroom. What you get there in row 4 is the intended Y+ legroom for that row. The dividers will be going back up eventually.

Feels like there's still some oddities of this new system.

Currently in QF856 PER CBR and I could not select Row 4 after T80 or at T24 so landed in 5F. Thought row 4 may have been bought out for a trans-con, but it departed completely empty. This led to a mad dash by 2 people once the seatbelt signs went off, one of which came up from Row 23. Crew questioning where and why they moved, as they were looking to put some people with mobility issues in there. Sadly, they weren't punted back to their original seats.

This was the screen I got at T48, no "Frequent Flyer Offer" for me for row 4 (that's going to be a mysterious algorithm for a while), and all of row 4 blocked for seat selection still at T23.

So I'm assuming P1 can still take row 4 for free at time of booking, but looks like these aren't then being made available for WP/SG at T24 based on 5/6 seats being empty at departure.. Which is an interesting choice, and I'm sure will lead to more mad scrambles by opportunistic/entitled pax in the air taking what they haven't earnt or paid for and increased pax management by the crew.

Agree, think they’re still figuring things out. This week on an SYD-ADL with 2 colleagues, all of us on seperate bookings. One WP moved to 4D at around T-70 for free as a “early bird offer,” but the other WP only went to move at check-in and row 4 was blocked for both the WP despite only 4D and 4F (me - P1) being occupied. Flight went out with rest of row 4 vacant.
 
Not sure if this has been discussed previously but when a P1 uses their points to make a domestic business class booking for a WP on a 737, the WP is automatically allocated to 1A or 1F if they are available. These seats are typically blocked for CL/P1 until T-80. WP not on the same booking as the P1.

The same now applies with economy plus, where I have been automatically allocated to 4A on an A220 and 737 flight for no charge. The rest of the row in the seat map is blocked out.

I am not on the same booking as the P1, it is just an odd/nice quirk in the system that has always been there in business class but now extends to row 4 in economy (it used to be row 5 which had little benefit until now).

I was able to move to front row around or somewhat before T-80 for some upcoming flights; now those rows are showing completely blocked, with my seat currently the sole seat allocated. (Confirmed with expert flyer)
