I grabbed a whole bunch of XRO at historic low on Tuesday on several reviewers advices. Dropped 13.6% on Wednesday.

I don't day trade but of course we like to be up on 1st day of purchase.. Trying to be too clever today putting in a low Buy order at 15:59.
With US down last night, AU following, international tensions, I thought there would be reluctance for many to hold over the weekend. So I expected a drop late afternoon, and also the 15:59 prices would be higher than the 10 min post 4:00pm prices. Nope, BHP closed up.20c on the 4:00pm price. Missed out.

Would be interesting to plot: difference between 4pm and official closing price (+/-) and share movement that day (+/-) and look for a correlation (perhaps reverse correlation as today). Anyone done that?

Quite crazy tbh. Have we seen a fundamental change in how we value returns? If this is the new normal, we are setting ourselves up for a much poorer future.

If blue chips are now going to be priced at 22-25 PE compared to historical 15-18 times… well we are crazy. Most bonds can be bought at 25 times at almost zero risk (not withstanding potential Fed aberrations that could devalue any Treasury debt).

The gas lobby is more powerful than our individual votes which are also a bit pointless since no party is proposing anything close to this.
