Strategy to obtain US Amex

Tried the QF marketplace to get WW GCs using the Chase card... same issue as other users a few months ago. No problem with US Amexs in the past. Ah well

I applied for my ITIN a few weeks ago using my passport and Australian address (still on process)
I plan to use the ITIN letter as one of the documents for a US credit card application. Do I need to update the ITIN address to a US address, or is the Australian address fine ?

Did you have to get your Australian passport certified somewhere?

If you’re planning to use it as proof of address, it’ll need to show the address you intend to use on your account.

I got two ITIN letters when I applied: one which was sent to my Australian address (and had my Australian address on it) and the other which was sent to the CAA I see (and had his Texas address on it). Obviously neither of those are particularly helpful when applying for a US card, so I could not use them as address proof (but Amex still asked for a copy anyway so they could see what my ITIN was).

I couldn't use any of my Chase cards on QF marketplace for GC since last week?
Tried multiple days with different cards on different devices but failed
Had to use Amex
Is this related to all the FR going on at Chase?

Amex USA is offering 200k sign up bonus for Amex Platinum USA card. If I already have had an Amex Green card for the last 2 years with no late payments, does anyone know what you have to provide to get the amex platinum card?
Do you need an ITIN, SSN or profit and loss statement to apply for the amex platinum if you already have amex green? thanks

Why would you need a p&l for personal card? For biz you don't even need it (plus the ABP offer is 300k with some luck)

Did you use a VPN when applying? The Chase fraud algorithm flags this and dislikes it
I do wonder whether this was the root cause of my palaver of an application recently….

Received a letter at my US address from Chase saying ‘we are concerned someone is trying to steal your identity and have declined an application as a result’, followed up with another page of info on how to contact the credit agencies for freezes, and ID theft resources.

Thanks Chase, fantastic, well done Angus

It's really frustrating about the VPN. I haven't been using them and managed to get cards from Chase, Barclays and Citi over the last few years. But everyone is saying that you should use VPNs for security so I don't know why banks punish you for using them.

Doesn’t add anything for security if you’re using your own secure (home) network

They will block/flag a lot of VPN IPs because unfortunately a lot of dodgy stuff is done from commercial VPNs endpoints too…

I was using a US VPN as I presumed Chase wouldn’t allow me to apply from a non-US IP address…

Just a quick one. I've previously received a US Platinum Personal AMEX. My forwarder Anytime Mailbox refused delivery and I was able to get it to AU as I was "travelling". I've taken up an upgrade offer from my Green Business to AEBP. Something has arrived from Amex in a plain envelope. Before I press the button and get them to forward it and it's not my card (I believe the forwarder won't accept cards, so I'm not game to get them to open the envelope and scan the contents, just checking in as I'm sure other people who follow this thread have received an AEBP before. Does it come in a plain envelope or "fancier" packaging like the personal Platinum?

Basic cards like the Green or BBP come in plain envelopes via USPS based on my experience.
