New Qantas promos including double status credits (book by 3/9/25; travel 4/9/25 until 22/8/26)

You'd think they learnt from the last time.

Their uptake must've been abysmal on those first few days for them to backflip.
That’s one possible explanation. Another is that their IT had not been given sufficient warning and hadn’t implemented necessary code for it to not count to LTSC, so they decided to backflip and give time to implement the needed changes ready for future offers.

It wouldn’t be the first time that Marketing/Execs in a big company decide to do something differently to in the past and expect IT to make changes in an unrealistic amount of time

As a retired IT Manager, tell me about it.

And I wouldn't be all that thrilled if the DSC started on 10 Feb, as I'll be in Taipei and will have to spend a lot of time there gazing into my laptop, rather than doing touristy things.

Silly question I can't find the answer to but I've got an existing booking eligible and booked during the Sep 2025 promo but I now need to change the date on one of the flights (move back 2 days). If I make the change online will the booking retain the DSCs?

As long as you 1) retain the original PNR reference, 2) it was created in compliance with the time frame for bookings to be eligible for double SC and 3) the new travel dates are in compliance with the time frame for travel to be eligible for double SC, then Yes.

Sometimes the changes never get made. Just look at Amex statement credits - almost always exclude gift cards but they always seems to count (YMMV).

A week long domestic sale has just been announced to follow the international one, so likely no DSC until at least 17 Feb.
And that international one followed a small domestic sale to a few leisure destinations around Australia Day.
Certainly looking to beef up those bookings ahead of their results coming out on February 26, which I think is more likely to be when the DSC will come at the earliest.

What a shame. SYD-MEL J at $299 would have been a good status run.
This is best price ive seen on QF MEL-SYD in J since pre-covid. Possibly a benefit of the increased J capacity with the newer aircraft replacing 737 on many departures.

I needed to book a one-way fare to return from a long weekend visit; so even though not DSC it was still cheaper to book this $299 (but had to fly before 7am the next morning to get that price) and pay for another hotel night (and earn more hotel SCs) than to take arvo flight the day before at $459 (which also better priced than then $549 its been the past year).
