Emirates Wolgan Valley to reopen as a Ritz-Carlton Lodge

I wonder how many points it will cost per night. Probably more than I have.
EK had stopped points redemption for Wolgan Valley some years ago. Maybe they will allow this again with the new opening. Maybe Marriott will allow it?

Wow - good news - we went there a couple of times years ago - it looks like the road will not be re-opened which could be a challenge - given access will be via 4WD on the Donkey Steps (just read about this recently reopened track) or helicopter so poor weather conditions could see access in/out closed.

It was pretty expensive before closing so I presume it will be in the +$3000 range (similar to Baillie lodges).

Wonder why Emirates wanted Ritz-Carlton's involvement?

I still remember a former poster's trip report of the resort, it sounds wonderful but I don't think it'll ever be in my budget.

Hopefully, this will cause the Donkey Steps to be opened to public access, and give us free access to Newnes again. (Camping, not the resort, is more my budget!)

Probably gonna be in the 80-100k Marriott point range - inevitably the 85k FNC might be used here for a weekday staycation :P

Wont be surprised if it is more than that tho. Or no points redemptions altogether.

lol. Memory plays tricks after 65 years.:) :)
I can remember because it was the first and last time I shot a rabbit. . It was standing motionless in the headlights u. I pulled the trigger and heard several sounds as the shot ricocheted off rocks then the bunny dropped. Shot between the eyes.
Have never fired another shot since that one.

Well that’s my new learning for today, had no idea EK had a resort out bush.

I assume council is sitting around not doing anything with the road as they expect the Feds to eventually cough up the funds and do it.
