Many thanks. First time trying for Upgrade Bid SYD-MEL on 30 Dec. It's a mid-afternoon flight so hopeful.

Booked today for a MEL-ADL arvo flight tomorrow, bid the minimum ($55 each) for 2 of us and within 30 minutes had an upgrade email come through.

Has success this past Sunday (28th) BNE-SYD.
Bid the minimum ($55) 4 days out, then had the outbid email the next day. Looked like it was 11 people bidding for 3 seats, max bid was more than double the minimum, but you don't need to run faster than the bear, just the person next to you. Minimum +$5 was accepted at T-24hrs.

Didn't show number of other bidders or show bid I had to beat.
Just allowed to change bid, up or down.
Does this mean that this outbid email is BS and just trying to get me to pay more?
Original bid is $25 above min.

Just got notification of success at $150.
I reckon no other bidders or at least not above $150.
I also reckon these outbid emails are disingenuous
