A332 VH-EBA on Tuesday 23 December's QF36, the scheduled 1940 hours SIN to MEL took off punctually at 1957 hours but has diverted to ADL where it arrived at 0501 hours.

QF is indicating it was meant to leave at 0540 but it looks to still be there.

QF 35 to SIN from MEL on EBD had departed 2 hrs late at 1418 instead of 1205, and now ETA at 1850 instead of 1705

On Christmas morning, 25 December 2025, QF94 from LAX to MEL (B789 VH-ZNM) should arrive 41 late at 1011 hours.

A388 VH-OQH on 'the 12' from LAX down to SYD arrived at 0755 hours, half an hour late.

QF72 from SIN down to PER with A332 VH_EBD arrived this morning at 0116 hours, 81 minutes late. This flight is normally punctual.

Apart from yesterday's diversion to ADL for QF36 (A332 VH-EBA) and the delay noted above to QF35 MEL-SIN, QFi's timekeeping has been betteri n the last few days than in recent previous weeks. -EBA remains in Adelaide, but from a quick look, I can't see any QFi or QFd A332-scheduled flight cancelled today. Christmas Day isn't as busy as Boxing Day (and subsequent late December-January days) when far more of us are travelling.

Even on busier days coming up, it looks at most only eight of the nine available A380s will be in use. However I don't have a subscription to sites such as FR24 so no visibility for say early January 2026. A380 VH-OQC remains in LAX with no indication when it will again be carrying passengers and freight.

If my count is correct, six QFi A380s are in SYD early this morning: first to depart will be VH-OQA at 0930 hours to JNB.

Yes, any major problems should be sorted in Sydney, given it's the major QFi base. We are assuming the plane can be flown ex ADL.

All airlines are 24-hour but as many as possible staff would be having lower demand Christmas Day off. Otherwise, lots of disappointed children.

EBA is ferrying across to MEL as QF6004. Given it reached 39,000 feet, I'd say whatever was causing the problem initially should have been resolved (hopefully).

Melbourne is also better hub than ADL for A330 fleet as well

On Boxing Day, 26 December 2025, QF93, the 1200 'high noon' MEL-LAX B789 is delayed until an expected pushback at 1300 hours.

QF80, the Christmas night 1920 hours NRT down to MEL did not become airborne until 21476 hours. Arrival on Friday 26 should be about 0958 hours, 133 minutes late for B789 VH-QPC that may be forming 'the 93'.

As at 1410 AEDT on Friday 26 December 2025, MEL was again on single runway ops: north-south. This is creating delays, though no holding patterns have been observed.

QF35, the 1205 hours MEL to SIN (A333 VH-QPC) at 1412 hours was only in the initial stage of taxiing.

On Saturday 27 December 2025, QF149 (the Friday 26 1915 hours evening SYD-AKL airborne at 2016 with B738 VH-VZU) should arrive at gate at about 0057 hours, 32 late.

QF2108 on Friday 26 (the 1845 hours SYD-CFS, Q400 VH-QOE) was in the sky early at 1853. It proceeded to CFS but did a number of circuits near that rural city and is diverting to SYD with expected arrival of about 2050 hours. Probably unlikely passengers will reach their destination tonight. Was (or is) there fog or some other 'unsuitable' weather at Coffs Harbour Airport? The BOM states relative humidity there is at 100 per cent.

The 0630 hours early morning CFS-SYD QF2101 on Saturday 27 is not yet displaying as 'cancelled' but this is likely.

In more on Saturday 27 December 2025, QF12 from LAX to SYD (A388 VH-OQL) arrived at its gate at 0825, an hour late.

'The 94' is worse, with -OQJ estimated to pull in to MEL (also ex LAX) at about 1115 hours, 105 minutes late. At this stage QF93, the 1200 'high noon' MEL-LAX is forecast to push back at 1315 hours, but this may be a little optimistic.

A332 VH-EBQ ran the overnight NRT to MEL QF80, the 1920 hours on 26 December that took off at 2038 for a 27 December gate arrival at 0831 hours, 46 minutes late.

B789 VH-ZNF is operating QF33 from PER up to CDG in France: its arrival is suggested as 0722 hours, 32 behind.

A333 VH-QPB operated QF128 overnight, arriving ex HKG in SYD at 0800 on Saturday 27, only five minutes late, but its next trip may not be so punctual given it's QF107, the 0905 hours SYD to CTS (Sapporo, Japan, a newbie destination for QFi). The latter departed at 0942 hours. which is a quick turnaround for this size of aircraft. Perhaps no substantial time for cleaning crumbs. It was airborne promptly at 0953.

The 0630 hours early morning CFS-SYD QF2101 on Saturday 27 is not yet displaying as 'cancelled' but this is likely.

This flight was cancelled. In contrast, ZL's identically timed flight on Saturday 27 December operated from CFS down to SYD but arrived 118 minutes late.

OH-LTM appears to have spent an additional unscheduled night in SIN as it the QF292 SIN-SYD was cancelled last night, and this has also affected Saturday's (27 December) QF291 SYD-SIN as well.

A332 VH-EBA that ran empty from ADL to MEL on Christmas Day as QF6004 appears to be undertaking another test flight, this time on Saturday 27 as QF6106. It flew down to Bass Strait and then back to MEL via Foster and Cape Paterson.
