Rule of thumb applies to modern "fuel efficient" aircraft as well?
The aerodynamic differences between a "fuel efficient" aircraft, and one without that moniker, but also from the last couple of decades would be in the low single digits percentage-wise. Their efficiency comes from improvements in the engines, which aren't all that relevant in a glide, and marketing, which is also of little help.
 
Are pilots or any crew able to use the inflight wifi for say work purposes only? Ie checking emails, company internal sites etc?

We use the wifi but we only get access for our flight planning/navigation log app. Everything else is blocked, including company emails and other external apps like NAIPS, BoM, etc. Cabin crew have no access at all.
 
The guy called "Mover" on YouTube posted a video about some AI generated drivel. It centres around a USAF pilot "saving the day" when the flight crew couldn't.

Apparently this "story" is going viral.

I’ve read it. It’s totally made up AI slop that plays on stereotypes of pilots. At least when humans wrote fake stories they were somewhat more believable
