Amazing that you were able to do that @DejaBrew
I think I would have resorted to a taxi and chase the bus.
A gear outcome nonetheless - enjoy your trip.
Cheers! I was just SUPER lucky that the bus I took broadly followed the same Metro line. Would have been disastrous for almost any other bus route I would normally take.

If by “lately” were including right now? Then sure!

On my way to SYD using bus/Metro/train. Got off the bus at the Metro station, got down to the platform and realised $@&#%¥ I left my laptop bag on the bus (complete with laptop, iPad, AirPods and oh yeah, my bloody passport!!!).:eek::eek:

Thankfully was able to leave DejaBrew+1 at the station and hop another Metro a couple of stops away to leapfrog the bus and meet up with it again to retrieve my bag (which thankfully had not been touched). Crisis averted 😅

Back enroute to the airport now hoping that that’s the last of the dramas for this trip 🤞
This is my nightmare!!

Lesson learned @DejaBrew 🤭
Do what @Seat0B and I do, "Count Our Bags/belongings" whenever leaving taxi/PT/hotel/plane etc
Enjoy your trip ✈️

OMG that’s the stuff of my nightmares right there @DejaBrew

Edit to add: and reading on in the thread, seems I’m not alone 😬

There are two lots of travellers in the world; those that have, and those who are about to...

All's well that ends well !

Reminds me of the time before Ubers. I caught a cab from SYD and left my bag in the footwell of the front seat. Was eventually reunited with it a few week later.

These days, it would be a simple matter of contacting the Uber driver.

You’d think the cab driver would see a bag in the front 🤷‍♂️

I booked the wrong child on a QF Reward flight to accompany me a few months ago. I am not totally absent minded, just decided to change who got to fly vs who got to drive (perhaps downsizing the family car as the family enlarged was the true mistake). Anyway a week after changing the name there have been no points deducted. I assume the deduction should have been straight away.
I'll be honest I thought the fact that I was very polite might have worked in my favour (25 mins to change the name on a booking might make others less polite) but I just found the name on the booking changed back. I called and they could see that I was right, said they would make the change again and I should expect a new itinerary within 24 hours.
So my travel mistake was not checking my booking change was re-ticketed.

And an addition to my last mistake. Realised if we arrived into PPT a day early that we would arrive back in AKL a day late and so it was. Meaning a 2 hour transit in AKL to our QF J award to BNE. I was prepared to go with that but Mrsdrron is one Wo likes to be at an airport at least an hour before check in opens so insisted on flying the next day. Now our classic rewards were 35700 and the next day they had a classic+ award for 42800. both came with a cost of $120 so I thought that won't cost to much. But QFF doesn't miss a chance to gouge extra out of you so per person the extracost was 5000 points change fee plus $502.

But MrsDrRon will be relaxed and in a zen mode - that's got to be priceless
