China Eastern Honours Fares sold for $3 in error!

An interesting decision by the airline, specially since they're going to lose some significant coin.

Flip-side however is that this is cheap positive press for them (not that I'm suggesting that nonews.com.au is strictly 'press'), and potentially build some loyalty amongst customers and their circles of influence who'd never tried their premium product.

Could go either way.

Of all places I’d expect it’d be easy to cancel those fares in China.

Now if only China Eastern was a part of OW, the usual prices look good for F SC runs across the country :)

China Eastern stated there were around 300 bookings at the price, and they will honour all bookings.

Compared to AA's little debacle with their recent screw up ;)

Well, when you compare the price for full F on China Eastern for the routes that were mistakenly offered, to full F trans-pac, there is a little bit of a difference :p

Also, it is on their own aircraft, not having to pay a full fare to another carrier, so significantly cheaper error.
