Strategy to obtain US Amex

So I purchased a 100 USD United Airline travel bank credit 5 weeks ago and it didn't trigger the airline credit refund. I contacted them via chat today and they said:

• Airport lounge day passes and annual memberships
• Change fees
• Checked baggage fees
• Early check-in fees
• In-flight:
○ Amenity fees (beverages, food, pillowsI appreciate that you're taking advantage of your card's benefits.

Just to share with you, xx_X posting may take up to 8 weeks from the transaction date as per the offer terms.

Please allow us this timeframe to validate the charge and post the credit if found qualifiedlankets, and so on)
○ Entertainment fees (excluding wireless internet)
• Overweight/oversize baggage fees

• Seat assignment fees

As per merchant's information the charge is for

Looks like iam out of luck with this one.

I just did this and when I added my AMEX plat to new us UBER account a pop up said the credit is already linked with another uber account. So Ive removed the AMEX plat as payment method on my Aus Uber account and will try it on my new US uber account and see if the credit posts.

Now I'm curious whether I can create a US based account, then re-add my amex's to that?

Be sure to cancel membership on this card not just remove it. I recently got stung with a usd$9.99 charge (Uber annual fee) on MsP's supplemental card which she'd removed 12 months ago. I lodged a dispute with Amex but the payment was upheld as Uber said they had an agreement.

I'm hoping the Hilton Aspire Amex is more forgiving, haven't heard of folks having issues previously.

Would love to hear your outcome as most users from US report that it doesn't report in USD so no credit. I think @albyd has struck gold with his Uber account. Also my iPlum number says it's banned on Uber when adding my US number. Might need to find another provider if multiple people can get the Uber credits working.

Seems like it still works for others. I also did mine around 5-6 weeks ago and received the credit. Did you enroll before purchasing?

What membership is it? I didn't think I had any membership with uber.

Yeah I did enroll before it and selected the airline. Maybe i enrolled and then purchased it to quickly after before system updated or something.

What membership is it? I didn't think I had any membership with uber.

I've got no idea, I've personally never used them. Card (it is an Aussie supplemental card) is now cancelled as I don't want anymore surprises.
