Just wondering what the upgrade offer you received? 50,000 or 125,000

I got 175k after 8k spend...

The $895 AF seems hard to justify when we can barely use any of it in Aus...

I was actually contacting them to cancel the card and then was thinking about downgrading to Green but then revisited this thread and go all excited again! Now to try and get some value out of the thing.

I got 125,000 MR points for $6K spend moving from Green to Platinum. Wish it was more but them's the breaks.

I can use the Uber credits - open a US Uber account.

I'm also using the streaming credits.

Oh that is great news you can use the Uber credits if opening a US account? What streaming service are you utilising?

That's what I did. I wonder how unfavourable the Exchange rate is which Uber uses to turn AUD fare back into USD.

I've just signed up to the Elite, have had a CSP for a few months.

I'm using it primarily for 5X on travel (since my APP was SD'ed a couple of months ago) and generous Priority Pass allowance.

Is 75k a good bonus for CSP?

Handily for the HSBC Elite the $10/mo rideshare credit doesn't seem to need a US account, topping up with Uber money (or buying a GC for yourself in-app) seems to work too (which means it can be used with Uber Eats too), although annoyingly the minimum spend is more like $30 or so when converted so less useful.

Fairly standard. It goes as low as 60K & as high as 100K.

I got 70k in branch in January when the website offer was 60k. I think it went as high as 95k shortly after but them’s the breaks.

I think Frequent Miler would have the record of the highest bonus for each card - eg. 5 free nights for both the Bonvoy Boundless, Bonvoy Business etc.

Indeed the highest is 100k for the CSP.

I tried creating a new US uber account but it seems the credits only works for orders/rides in the US.

I set up an US Uber account and used my card as the payment card for Uber and caught an Uber to the airport and it appears to have worked for me - the credit appeared on my Amex transactions. It wasn’t a ride in the US but used a US account. Guess the question is what the exchange rate Uber used and if it matters much given we’re accessing the credit. I suspect using Amex US platinum with an AU Uber account won’t work. YMMV.
