Just returned from the InterCon Fiji - a great all round experience. Upgraded to Beachfront room, fantastic location - Natadola Beach.

Clean large, functional and a very welcoming attitude. Staff are getting their act togather but shouldnt lose their Islander appeal or appoach to service - it is holidays after all.

Food on the whole was fresh and well presented. The hotel is well orgainised with activities and looks after kids very well in their kids club.

The water is clear and warm and the tour desk very helpful. The hire car from the hotel was not the best at all with strange noises and quite expensive (1 day with insurance FJD$134).

There is a good exchange rate at present which makes it an attractive destination (and no I didnt pay $20 for the chips at the Hard Rock Port Denarau).

A great cruise was done on Seaspray out to the Tom Hanks Island where they filmed Castaway.

We will definately go back.

If you would like to know more let me know.

Good to hear you had a great trip, too often the bad gets reported and not the good, not that I have heard much about the IC Fiji to date regardless.

To me, there seems to be a marketing blitz for this IC Fiji. Every advertisment on Fiji seems to show pictures of this hotel and I can vividly see myself being there and hope to be there soon ;)

My sister celebrated her 60th birthday there In Dec. 2009. Took her 2 children and their spouses and 3 grandchildren there.
Firstly, the children were entertained in the Kids Club. Food was great and the thing that grabbed my attention was the most amazing Golf Course. The photos I saw were sensational. This golf course has a type of grass that is watered my sea water and the course is built around the ocean shore line.
My brother-in-law is a low marker and also a tournament referee and he rates this course in his top 10 he has played.
So I too, will be looking forward to going there.

If staying for any length of time, it would probably make sense to purchase a "Priority Privilege card" for the 50% off food benefits alone.

For a 3 night stay, would you recommend the IC or perhaps a more centrally located property like the Sofitel?

BUMP SPRUCE,

Would appreciate your comments.

I can guess, for a romantic getaway take the IC. But I'll most probably be flying solo, so am wondering whether I'll get bored with the remote IC location; perhaps more activity around the Sofitel e.g., would be better?

For 3 days take ic. Not that remote but distance does have therapudic effect. The card would be a good idea. Check t&c's though. It is not a club med though. If solo why looking at fiji?

Its not a bad option for a SC run, $1200 return ex Mel/Bne for 240 SC's in J with no OMG hour departures, and if you do have a family you can always disguise it as a family holiday , they also seem to have excellent BOGO availability for suites over school holidays with Priority Privilege which is a bonus. Keen to hear any other feedback with a trip pencilled in for later this year!
