Didn’t bother given I had viewed the NTSB conference some 12 hours earlier. As I said I don’t bother with such content as it’s just rehashing press releases etc without asking questions like why the airline said it was not late when it clearly was? There used to be a book series called xx_x for dummies, I regard youtubers and most travel/frequent flyer blogs as the modern day equivalent

Didn't NTSB just say there was no maintenance? They didn't say there was no delay. So what's unclear is why was there a two hour delay.

The NTSB guy said, relying on what UPS told them 'to date', and in response to a question about a rumour of a maintenance delay:

* the plane was "not delayed" and there was "not maintenance work done immediately before ..."

They will investigate etc etc

Latest NTSB briefing.

Death toll increased to 12 with 9 more missing/ unidentified.
Voice and data recorders successfully downloaded including 2hrs of audio. Transcription and preliminary analysis over next few days.
FOD walk on runway has identified engine parts inc blades in advance of the main engine debris.
UPS statement reiterated that no delays or recent maintenance on that aircraft, albeit a suggestion it may have been swapped in for another aircraft.
