While checking today I noticed that SYD-SIN-HKG (or BKK) now shows as 60K points instead of 45K in J (while SYD-SIN is still 45K)

I was checking as I am concerned that with SQ moving to their version of variable priced awards - this could impact AC awards on SQ. AC already has variable pricing on its own flights as well as a few other *A and partner airlines.

That would be correct nothing strange here.

SYD-SIN fits under the 2001-5000 mile bracket which is 45k.
SYD-SIN-HKG is now a 5495mile journey which pushes it into the next bracket.

Afaik SYD-SIN-BKK is still 45k and that's correct as it's under 5000 miles
Nothing has changed here.

Oops - I sort of panicked because I thought I saw SYD-SIN-BKK at 60K - obviously mistaken. I'm planning to burn my 400K+ AC points soon as I suspect with SQ moving to variable pricing it will have a flow on impact to AC awards.

Funnily enough awards on SQ ex-SYD are now showing up.
