Virgin Atlantic will commence HKT-LHR flights 3x weekly from 18 October 2026. A seasonal route running during the northern winter period.

A bit of a way off yet, but what's interesting about this is that it's a Velocity partner airline. In theory, assuming VS releases seats, you might be able to book Premium Economy or Business ("Upper Class") seats using Velocity points.

Combined with a cheap Jetstar Business ticket from SYD or MEL to HKT and a Thailand stopover, this probably wouldn't be a terrible way to get to London.

Unless it’s on one of their horrible J configured type!
Flew on on of their ex A330’s recently and one of the worst J products I’ve flown it.
I dare say VS will send their rubbish to HKT unfortunately

On a practical level, only suitable for those who want to stop over in coughet, in both directions, given the schedules are not complementary.

The presser says it'll be the 789. So yes, a form of "Coffin" class. Their A35x have reverse herringbone seats.

But probably better than CGK for a stopover in both directions (and no $50 eVOA).
