Hilton Honors discussion

I'm new to the HH Program and am planning to apply for Diamond status through VA Platinum in Jan 2026 for the Diamond status to expire in Mar/Apr 2028.

The question I have is regarding Diamond benefits for all guests under my booking. I'm looking to book 2 rooms at Hilton Sydney next year under my Diamond profile for myself and 3 guests (4 of us in total) - do Diamond benefits extend to all 4 of us?

In theory, I would have thought so. Room 1 booking (under my name with Diamond status) + 1 guest as well as room 2 booking (also in my name) + 1 guest should qualify for breakfast and lounge access.

In reality, I'm turning up to the Brasserie/Lounge as a Diamond member + 3 guests and I thought only the Diamond member + 1 guest would get breakfast and lounge access?

If both rooms are booked under Diamond status, would all 4 of us get free breakfast at the Glass Brasserie and Executive Lounge access?

The solution is to book one of the rooms on the executive level with breakfast included. If there are kids put them in that room as it will be cheaper.

The benefits are for the member's room, and so select the maximum guests for the room that you can (regardless of the actual sleeping arrangements), then and that should show up as that number being eligible for breakfast, the lounge, etc. I do this even when travelling solo (so long as the price remains the same), so that I can bring a guest to the lounge or meet someone for breakfast.

Breakfast and lounge is only given to one additional guest in the same room. If you book a room with 3 people, you’re capped at 2. Might be different at certain properties but that’s the official policy.

I wasn't aware of that for HH... though I've only done this at a Hilton property with a child as the 3rd guest, who they never had issue with, so hadn't tested with a 3rd grown up human. Other chains can be more generous and will accommodate the guest numbers booked for the member's room, even if it's a multi-room apartment or villa, which is quite handy! I used to do this with a group at the Crowne Plaza in the Hunter Valley before they rebranded

The other consideration is many hotels will have an extra charge for a third person.

Hilton SP definitely doesn’t extend the benefits for apartments beyond 2 people, though you can always try your luck on the day.
